Took family thru Shelbyville for lunch on a return trip from St. Louis to Savoy. I've been to a dozen or more Monicals all over central illnois in the last 40 years or so. I know it may be (I assume) the same recipe from store to store but their Pizza was fantastic. Perfect crust, perfect sauce. Cheese, pepperoni and sausage were all higher quality. I like the average Monicals quite alot (been eating it for years), but the Shelbyville shop has my number now. Ultra helpful and friendly staff took great care of us. also a nice cozy and clean dining room. Thanks you all from the Hendersons..

On our visit to Lake Shelbyville, we ordered a pepperoni and green olive pizza for a beer and pizza supper at our campsite.
IT WAS GREAT - EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED! Rarely can we find green olives, and we always prefer a thin slightly crispy crust. PERFECT!!

Good food friendly staff great parking. Little bit of a traffic jam at the counter when you're trying to order since you order at the counter and not the table. Also the place is a little dark with lighting.. food was worth the visit.

Ordered 2 individual pizzas. Got one individual and one small pizza. $24 when questioned said prices raised. Also not cooked well. Not done. Won’t be back. Used to love their pizza’s but since they made changes it has not been the same. Came from out of town because they were good.

I usually font have problems but tonight was the absolute worst pizza ive had from monicals. It wasnt cooked like usual. Idk if they took it out of oven early but nothing was good

I have never been to a Monical's where they make you wait on yourself. My husband ordered and paid at the counter, tipping over $10, thinking they'd wait on us from there. No. We got our own drinks, our own refills, our own to go box. All they did was drop the pizza off at our table when it was ready. Not to mention the teenage girl who brought out our pizza was wearing what looked liked boy short underwear, no shorts or pants.... underwear. Literally butt cheeks hanging out. Not something you expect at a family restaurant. The pizza was excellent per Monical's usual. But we will never tip ahead again. Lesson learned.

I like to eat in at monicals and get the family pleaser because I like the bi salad that they bring to your table. I also like all the retro items that they have decorated the walls with, it gives the kids things to ask questions about.
Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and place mats that have activities on the back of them and they offer cups with lids so if they knock them over they don't spill all over the table.
Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheelchair ramps on the side of the entry stairs as you come in and they have extra wide, double doors for wide wheelchairals. Also, the isles between the tables are big enough for wheelbarrow to fit between.
Recommended dishes: Supreme Pizza
