Took family thru Shelbyville for lunch on a return trip from St. Louis to Savoy. I've been to a dozen or more Monicals all over central illnois in the last 40 years or so. I know it may be (I assume) the same recipe from store to store but their Pizza was fantastic. Perfect crust, perfect sauce. Cheese, pepperoni and sausage were all higher quality. I like the average Monicals quite alot (been eating it for years), but the Shelbyville shop has my number now. Ultra helpful...
On our visit to Lake Shelbyville, we ordered a pepperoni and green olive pizza for a beer and pizza supper at our campsite.
IT WAS GREAT - EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED! Rarely can we find green olives, and we always prefer a thin slightly crispy crust. PERFECT!!
Good food friendly staff great parking. Little bit of a traffic jam at the counter when you're trying to order since you order at the counter and not the table. Also the place is a little dark with lighting.. food was worth the visit.
