Pepe's Mexican Restaurant

Our server was nice, food was just okay not worth the price. Restaurant did not seem very clean, lots of gnats and bugs flying around and even a bee that stung my toddler. Wont be returning

Ordered Uber Eats., no set up for fajitas as described on website cheese, guacamole, sour cream, no chips. So tortillas meat and cold beans. Ordered a large salsa am I supposed to drink it? Ordered no veggie on my child's burrito had veggies. $68 food order and it was not edible for my son, my meal was just meat and tortillas. Nevermind aside from the huge chunks of chicken. It was rather flavorless. Was offered a credit for a future visit. Umm no, not going to waste more money on flavorless food, w no toppings as described or receive a burrito that is inedible for the person who ordered it.
For an area w amazing mexican food this place is an absolute disappointment. Save your money and go elsewhere. Food prices are way to high to not receive what was ordered.

The boys and I were going to stop in for dinner and drinks after our round of golf. We were all told it would be $20 a person just to get in. Apparently, they were having a “fight night” for the Canelo fight, which anyone with a Netflix account can watch. All we wanted was some food and drinks, not to pay a $20 cover at a Pepe’s IN SHOREWOOD. This isn’t a downtown Chicago sports bar with PPV. With only about 6 cars in the parking lot, you’d think they’d be happy to take any business they could get. Instead, they lost out on 4 customers, all of which were going to order food and drinks. If I recall the tacos are decent, but I’ll never eat them again.

Buffet no waitress had to keep getting up to ask for my drinks . Had to get up and ask for everything for that matter . And then people expect a tip . I don't usually complain about anything or right reviews but this place is terrible. Read the reviews you been warned

Terrible customer service and because all family work here they take their time and know they won’t lose their job. They don’t refill your drink in a timely fashion. Owner is a wonderful guy but, he really doesn’t keep up his restaurant. You can sit forever waiting for a bartender to show up and when they do their mind is on the empty room next door. Guy behind bar had long nails that is a health issue. I had a hair in my cocktail that was a bit gross, cleanliness needs to be taken care of here.
A shame because with a new TRAINED staff this place could be back to what it was but, the owner cutting corners to save on a good staff by employing family is hurting him. And, the customers that they are losing because of what is mentioned it’s hard to come back from. Oh and, Never order beef here, it is grisley and fatty. Chicken or shrimp is better here.

So disgusted from this place, I feel like I was scammed. To start, our total was $20 more than the menu prices show, due to “price changes.” I got the enchiladas Cozumel, literally just a dry tortilla with chunks of imitation crab rolled up, and a slab of melted cheese on top. No sauce of any kind, no seasoning, no flavor. My husband got the steak ranchero…. $28 (the menu says $15.95). The meat wasn’t even edible, definitely didn’t taste like skirt steak. We will for sure never be back, Taco Bell would have been much more satisfying for a fraction of the cost.

Horrible place. They left out half of our order which was over 50$ worth of food. And when we called to complain they screamed at us and said this wasn’t their problem and hung up on me in the middle of talking. I was only on the phone with them for less than 2 minutes and they were full on screaming at me. Disgusting behavior

Everything about this place was terrible! From the moment we walked in until we left! A party of about 11 people with only 2 people dining in. The service was awful and the smells was horrible. The manager/owner was unpleasant and seemed to be on edge. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The drinks were watered down and we were served water in red solo plastic cups like we were at a backyard party. I wish I could give negative stars!

This place is horrible, walked in the carpet was filthy, AC was a floor unit. The waiter did not greet us at all, just simply ask “ What do you want to drink very rudely”. Every one drinks were watered down. Once this was brought to the attention of our waiter. It went out the window from there. Our waiter was very rude and dismissive. As we were calmly trying to explain. A guy walked from the back who we thought could have been the manager began to explained how the drinks were “ premixed” and if we wanted more alcohol we can buy a shot to put in there. Our waiter return with red plastic solo cups with water. At this point we asked for the check. The waiter yelled “ I am the owner you all can leave”. That is in fact what we did. Not only is this place nasty the owner attitude was as well. Do not waste your time nor spend money in this establishment.
