We went in on a Saturday evening around 8 PM. It was busy but we were seated within about 10 minutes. The place had a fun, lively atmosphere with lots of energy.
My boyfriend ordered a Sapporo and I had a couple of piña coladas — hands down the most delicious piña coladas I’ve had in a long time! The sushi was good and nicely presented; I’ve had a bit more flavorful sushi elsewhere, but overall it was enjoyable and fresh.
Service was friendly and the food came out fairly quickly despite how busy it was. I’d definitely come back again to try more rolls and maybe some BBQ next time.

Discovered this hidden gem! As soon as we walked in, the vibe and color ambience hit different. It’s a small place, but the interior is so pleasant — they used every bit of space perfectly. The service, drinks, and food were amazing!
We had kimchi stew, rolls, sashimi, grilled skewers, and everything was top-notch — no complaints at all. And the rice… oh my gosh, the rice was unbelievable! I’ve never had plain rice taste this good before — perfectly cooked, fluffy, and full of quality. I still can’t forget it.
It’s so hard to find good-quality restaurants nowadays, but this one truly stands out. Definitely my new favorite spot whenever I crave Asian, sushi, or Korean food. Highly recommend! Who knew such a gem was hidden right here in casual Streamwood?

One of my favorite sushi places ever. I've been coming here for over 5 years since before there remodel and I was scared that things would change but they are just always top tier with their food and service. I never leave disappointed. Their miso soup is favorite appetizer and any of their sushi rolls is a hit and I love bring family here because they love it just as much too.

All of our family members, including myself, had heard so much about Minami’s Korean-style sushi course menu! It’s hard to meet such high expectations, but today they absolutely did. Every bite and every moment was enjoyable — the presentation, quality, and service were all on point. There’s truly no other place in the Chicagoland area that serves a Korean-style sashimi course like this. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The best sushi in Illinois. Been to so many spots in Chicago and minami has always come out on top in terms of freshness of fish and the flavors. This place honestly opened my eyes as to what a perfectly made piece of sushi should taste like. The sushi here takes advantage of the amalgamation of flavors each roll brings. You will not taste the same flavors in each roll. Each roll is an experience it itself. Good job Min and team!

We really enjoyed our experience at Minami Sushi. The miso soup was delicious, and the sushi boat with all fried rolls was amazing. The spicy shrimp appetizer that came with it was phenomenal, and everything else we tried was just perfect. Highly recommend!
