Not like it used to be when we left Streator 4 years ago. Ordered tenderloin sandwich w/fries and got tenderloin served open face with mashed potatoes along with fries. The soup was chicken tortilla and not chicken tortilla as told by waitress. There sister restaurant in Pontiac hasn't changed a bit.

I want to love Al's place because it's close to home and they have specials that sound amazing. However, their pricing is higher than other places and the last few times I have been or ordered from there I have been greatly disappointed. Last week they had cheesey broccoli soup, I love cheesy broccoli soup so I ordered a large container of it and it was the most bland soup I have ever had. It also still had clumps of flour in it that had not been broken down and mixed in properly. They also forgot many things in my to-go order and I was charged $4 for maybe a third of a can of corn.

Always a great place to dine. Something for everyone. The best soups! You never leave hungry and wonderful staff.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options and staff is willing to make accommodations to alter items if needed.Parking: Parking lot has a lot of space. Parking available on 3 sides of the building.Kid-friendliness: Kid menus, highchairs available and coloring pages.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible

The food for the free Thanksgiving dinner was great. The take out order for the Thanksgiving dinner was not what expected. The portio were a lot sma than eating at Restraunt. More potatoes and gravy. Very small portions of meat and stuff. No cranberry sauce. no veggies with dine in nor take out. The pie square at restaurant was bigger than the take out. (2 -1 inch by 1 inch ) That didn't even make up for what you got at restaurant. I had the free meal there but bought 2 meals to go for 2 neighbors that has no family living or going by. them for the holidays. I understand a free meal is what you get. But if you pay for meals you should get what you pay for. 12-13 dollars for each you should have gotten more. meal in was soup and potatoes with gravy and turkey and stuffing. Had to ask for cranberry sauce. . No vegetables. I am grateful for the food for me and the work everyone did at the restraunt

The owner puts his hands on underage children and doesn't pay them for time they worked.

We decided to try out their Friday night, All-you-can-eat cod dinner, and I've got to say that it was as good or better than described. It came with 2 sides and rolls and, to our surprise, included dessert (usually my favorite part of a meal).Unfortunately, the dessert quickly became the disappointment of the meal. We tried 2 of my favorite cakes, Red Velvet and Carrot, both with what I imagined would be a butter cream frosting. To be honest, both cakes were very dry, and the frosting left a lot to be desired. Neither one of them warranted a second bite.Needless to say, the dessert wouldn't bring me back, but the cod certainly would... we ordered the second round when they delivered the first, and it was there before we finished 2 of the 4 pieces we each received in the first order...Nicely done.Plus, our waitress, while I don't remember her name, was a real sweetheart, with a great attitude and a beaming smile. And bonus... there is a DQ just down the street for dessert.
