Only thing I wish they would change is to take cards too. They could increase the food costs just slightly when they are raising the prices for their cost increase just like every other place is doing and is expected.

They just lost our business because they don't take credit cards, cash or checks only.

In town for a few days and stopped by for some sweet and sour chicken. I called ahead, and As always the owner Ping answered the phone. She asked me to hold and then a moment later her son took my order. He is the most polite young man. I eat here anytime I am in town. Place is always clean and the orders are ready quickly!

Had some General Tso’s Chicken with Fried Rice, and after about a half an hour later my stomach started feeling real bad, another half an hour later I filled the sink up with puke. Probably won’t ever be coming back.

Better than expected. It really is a surprise to find any decent food around here. New China is one of the few Chinese options in Streator. Has a lot of basic items. They also have a few vegetarian ones such as tofu. After heading north along the main road, we stopped in. It wasn't busy even at lunch. That could have been a bad sign. Has most of the typical Chinese American items. We got the Mongolian Tofu. It's about $8 for a lot. This came with not quite crispy tofu. It still had good flavor. The vegetables were mostly onions and peppers. Good amount for the price because you get a lot. It used to have a buffet, but it doesn't seem to anymore so it's just the regular menu. The food may be pretty average, but there's a few good things for vegans and vegetarians.

I only ate here once, and that was enough for me. First of all, you can't understand them (especially when they don't want to answer a question you have), but secondly, the food is dumpster food. I asked for "kung pao chicken fried rice" (any Chinese restaurant worth their salt offers this dish, and it's awesome). Instead of telling me they didn't have it (so I could order regular CFR and add a dish of kung pao chicken to mimic it), they just gave me the regular CFR (claiming they didn't understand or something), which would have been fine (I guess), but the chicken was BROILED. BROILED CHICKEN, NOT FRIED. AND IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. I couldn't even eat it and I don't believe they even offered a replacement. Some of these Chinese restaurants act like they own America and can act and do whatever they want because they can use the "language barrier" (which I'm sure they also complain about when it inconveniences them). I'm not sure I've had a worse experience at any restaurant in my life. If you want solid Chinese, go to Beijing Garden across from Walgreens, downtown.

Rivals the best Chinese restaurants in Chicago from my experience. Very happy with this place! The prices and meal portions are on point. Will be back regularly.
