We stopped here on the way home from Starved Rock State Park. It was just wonderful. We were greeted warmly right away, and were given two menus to peruse (dinner and lunch specials). We had the chicken souvlaki (a double skewer) and a Greek salad. They were both delicious. The chicken was perfectly done, tender and juicy. It came with an excellent, house-made tzatziki sauce. The Greek salad had lots of olives and feta cheese. We both loved it and will be back.

Holy Bananas!!! The best Greek food I have ever had!!! We had the Saganaki, Gyro Platter, and the Two Souvlaki Skewer. AMAZING!!! We were in town for a taekwondo tournament and was looking for a lunch place. Next time we are in town, we will absolutely enjoy this place again!!!

We rode our bikes uptown Sycamore and wanted a healthy bite for lunch. We were super happy when we stopped by The Village Restaurant and met the owner, Jean, a sincere and kind person! The chicken and pork skewers were delicious and cooked perfectly. Another "surprise and delight" for us was the homemade tzatziki sauce—oh my!!! Jean recommended her homemade Greek avgolemono soup... this lemon chicken cream soup gets an A+! Water infused with lemon and cucumber was a nice touch. I highly recommend The Village Restaurant. We will be back soon, as this 5-star establishment is extremely memorable!

The food here is absolutely delicious! The main dish portions are big enough to share, and the sides are all exquisite. The best lemon-chicken-rice soup I’ve ever had. They have the BEST fries hands down- I recommend pairing them in the spicy feta dip or the nuanced hummus. My go to is the perfect, HUGE Spanikopita or the very flavorful Moussaka. The lunch special burger is the best in town!

My 5 year old son really wanted me to leave 5 stars because he loved the chicken fingers and fries. He has reminded me every day since to leave a review, so I highly recommend the chicken fingers! Lol. But we have been here twice and enjoyed our food. My husband's family is greek and they have all had great things to say about it. I love tzatziki and they gave great tzatziki here.

I've placed several to go orders with The Village. Their 1/3 lb cheeseburger and loaded gyro fries are two of my favorites. The fries are always hot and tasty with 2 delicious sauces. Their staff is polite and friendly. Plenty of available parking.
We went at lunch time and my husband got the gyro lunch special with Greek potatoes. I got the chicken souvlaki pita with fries. Those Greek potatoes were delicous. Honestly they were better than the Flames seasoning-wise although I wish they had just a hint of lemon. Fries were also delicous but the potatoes beat them by a landslide. I really enjoyed my chicken pita. The only reason I gave them 4 stars for food was I personally prefer a chicago gyro (combined lamb and pork) and they just had pork gyros. It was good but I like the more traditional style better. I can say next time my husband and I are going to split the side because that was way too much food for lunch.
I come here every time I visit sycamore and I leave feeling full and never have I had a bad experience. Staff is always nice and friendly, food is also amazing! Looking forward to stopping by again ^-^
