My Lord, 59 dollars for four malts and a package of chocolate?? The prices here are out of control. This is still a small town correct? These are NYC prices! I know we are aren't the only ones who have felt the same about this place lately, cool environment- but not worth the prices anymore.
We didn't stop to eat but we did buy some amazing candy! It was hard to only pick a few. Everything was so tasty!

We met up with a friend at Flesor's and had an excellent meal. It was our first time there and it was wonderful. We also got a tour of the candy making kitchen. Delicious candy!! 😋

The nostalgia is palpable at Flesor's Candy Kitchen. I was transported back to a time when I sat at the soda fountain with classmates and we tested, or thought we tested, Gus with every combination of fountain drink conceivable to a juvenile mind. He was unfazed. Beyond the ambience, the food is very good and the candies will elicit a Pavlovian lip smacking or heavy salivation.
My good friend and I decided a couple of weeks ago that we wanted to go to Flesor's for our lunch date. The other choice was Yoder's. I wish, in retrospect, that we had chosen the later. We've gone to Flesor's before for lunch and it was decent. The last time we were there, I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of soup. The chicken salad was delicious, but my only complaint was that there was maybe a teaspoon of chicken salad on the whole sandwich. I just scooped on one slice of bread and made a half sandwich. The bread wasn't real fresh and I'm not a fan of thick, dry bread. Okay, maybe I was just being a bit picky. Fast forward to this time. I ordered the sloppy joe because I love them and it's hard to make a bad sloppy joe right? Well, to be honest, it was the worst I'd ever eaten in my life. I would've been embarrassed to serve it. It looked okay, but the bun was very hard, and the sloppy joe part was dry and cold...not warm and sloppy like all the others I've ever eaten. I think they were possibly made way ahead of time and sat for a long time. It was one of the specials for the day. It came with chips and I ordered a cup of soup, which was ok, but not tasty. At this point, I have no memory of anything I've ever ordered there that was good...except for the ice cream. It is excellent. But all you have to do it scoop it and serve it. So next time we decide to have a girl's lunch out, this won't be on our list, other than maybe going for some ice cream. I didn't say anything because I wanted to enjoy our time together which I did.
PS: I would suggest sticking with serving ice cream and fountain drinks. Also, the candy is really awesome. If you just concentrated on those things, it would be a great place to go. But the food leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion. I hate paying the expensive prices for food at restaurants now days and then just getting mediocre or even bad food. Disappointed. And I feel I was generous with this rating.

Some remodeling is going on, but it didn't interfere with the great food or service.

The food was excellent! I absolutely loved the sweet potato fries. They were cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. The ice cream was quite good too. Candy was expensive, but hopefully worth it! Getting drink refills was quite difficult though. Overall, I would come back. Cute place.
Parking: If you’re willing to walk, there’s plenty of parking, but not so much handicap accessible spots. And those were not roomy if you needed space, say to get in and out of a wheel chair.
