We went to Dennys in Vandalia, Il. today . 2/12/26. it was a great noon meal and very reasonably prices . We both had a meal on the (meals under 10 dollars) menu. I would recommend this Dennys as it was fast and friendly service, good food and reasonably priced unlike the Dennys at Effingham Illinois that is slower than snails.

We unfortunately did not have a great experience here.

They seemed maybe frustrated (?) with a group of ten (and baby) when we came in. No one else was there. We heard them discuss opening a bigger table (conference maybe) but the waitress said no she wasn't doing that so we squeezed into a booth and pushed a table closer.

Then two tables each with two people came after us and ate before us. Not real busy at all.

The waitress was either new or distracted. She came back to our table 4 times because she forgot to ask how to cook our eggs and the type of toast we wanted. Then again twice more because they were out of Texas and rye bread so she settled with white.

She was asked 2 or 3 times for jelly. She had trouble with getting our drink refills correct when repeating it back. We had to ask another waiter for a coffee refill after waiting awhile. Milk refill was asked for twice. She finally started to write down things to get the other drinks correct.

She totally forgot one person's toast but he didn't ask a second time. Somehow she brought an extra meal of country fried steak we had to send back and extra pancakes (maybe that was instead of the toast)🤷. At the end of the meal she brought one person's turkey bacon finally.

She was friendly and did apologize but it was a lot of issues.

I felt bad because she didn't get a nice tip from the person who was paying our bill.

Haven't been to Denny's myself in years. My bacon was not very flavored, the sausage was teeny tiny (wish I took pictures) but my cheddar eggs were yummy. Everyone else seemed okay with their food.

We came here as a family for Christmas dinner and we all got different things. You could tell they were short staffed and stressed. Our drinks took over 10 minutes to get ordered and about as long to get to us. I asked for a straw and my waitress forgot for quite some time. When it came to our food my husband got both over and undercooked chicken on a salad, and tomatoes when he said none because he’s allergic. My meat was so overcooked it was hard. My BIL, dad, and sister got country fried steaks and they were all mushy/slightly undercooked. I understand holidays are rough sometimes but I was very disappointed because in the past I’ve liked Dennys food but it’s been a while.

Every time we order pick up the order is WRONG. EVERY TIME every $30-$60 we pay is WRONG! Then staff proceeds to say you ordered wrong! How is that when you make it as simple as a grand slam w a SINGLE topping added to pancakes but TGE CUSTOMER AND NOT THE COOK OR ONE WHO BAGS YOUR FOOD AND THE HOSTESS CHECKING YOU OUT YET THEY WANT AN AUTOMATIC TIP UPON CHECKOUT. Every-time that tip will reflect $0.00 until I get my moneys worth of messed up orders back since they want you to drive back to pick they're mess up back up even though theres a DELIVERY option online. Classic fast food behavior & so damn classy of them. Disgusting cold food. They don’t even offer to re-cook the entire meal to make it right they just want you to pick up the correct topping. Mind you multiple times in the last two weeks this has happened. No, I don’t want to put my food down run to go get a topping that should’ve been on there as reflected on my receipt in order just to come back to eat cold food when it looks unappetizing as is! Corporate needs to come in And straighten these people out with REAL Customer Service

I went in to Denny’s in the pilot gas station and everything was great!!! My server was Kolby K and we was very intentive on my dining experience it looked like him and the other blonde waitress Addyson got along well and have great teamwork overall. I also caught the cooks name Cody and the steak he cooked was phenomenal!! 10/10 will come back again😊

Food was not good, one of us did not receive a meal at all because they said couldn’t get the chicken done for the skillet. Had bought frozen chicken from Walmart because they ran out. So I sat there while the rest ate. The waitress was trying to do it all, she was by herself and the cook needed helped and she was trying to cook, wait tables, check people out. That poor girl needs a raise! I would have walked out!
