The food was excellent everything was warm. Everything was clean the serving that we had were very friendly. The restaurant is very nice and very good food. We love it and we come over an hour away just to be up there to eat.

There used to one in Danville , Illinois back in late 70's and early 80's. That one was the best but this one is just as good ?. Great staff. My steak was the best I've had since Tequila 45 in Houston Texas! And that is saying a lot ❤️.

Buffet was fine, waitress was excellent. What was not great was the cashier who charged me wrong, apparently didn’t know how to articulate enough so as not to overcharge. Then the manager refused to fix it. I never asked for the manager, the waitress sent her over because the waitress thought we were overcharged too. Very poor way to treat customers. I’m disappointed. Thank you for responding, I wanted a salad and a piece of Monterey chicken, just that nothing more. I said a side Monterey chicken. One piece of meat and one small salad. Crazy price for that. $12.99 for one small piece of chicken? Sounds high to me. Plus the $6.99 for a salad, I didn’t want the entire buffet and said I wanted a salad. If we come back I won’t order that again. I’ve learned my lesson. Thanks again for your response

I recently dined at this restaurant today on September 19th 2024 and I had a disappointing experience. After stepping away to use the bathroom, I returned to find my steak had been picked up by the server and used dirty paper napkins placed upon the steak to clear off the table. My guest informed the server that I wasn’t done eating the server removed the used paper napkins off my meal and then she proceeded to dump the steak and baked potato in a "doggy bag" she called it. This made me feel rushed and poorly treated.
Despite my guest speaking to the manager about the situation, I was neither offered a new steak nor a refund. While I understand that mistakes happen, the lack of proper handling and consideration was frustrating. I expected better service and attention to customer satisfaction. It's sad because I thought I found a new spot to eat regularly.

I will not be returning to Ponderosa, unfortunately. We ordered two steaks for carry out, one rare, the other medium rare. Both were well done. Like eating leather boot soles. They came with salads, which while not tasting "rotten" were definitely not fresh. The salad at Wendy's is better, for reference. The baked potatoes were dry and overcooked. Maybe like they were baked at noon, and had been sitting under a warmer for seven hours. The burgers we ordered for the kids were also overcooked and dry, so much so that they didn't want to eat them. Definitely not worth the $90+ we paid for the meal. I hope the buffet is better, but I can't say whether or not it is.

Thank you for responding, I wanted a salad and a piece of Monterey chicken, just that nothing more. I said a side Monterey chicken. One piece of meat and one small salad.
