I stopped into this restaurant for a quick bite to eat before an interview. The service was quick and the owner himself was taking orders. I was a little confused about the pricing at first, but he was nice and explained the difference between the meals and directed me to their meal specials so I could get the most bang for my buck. He’s fairly funny and jokes around with me a bit.
The baklava is also made fresh by his wife with adds a nice homey and authentic Greek touch to this restaurant.
The food was also made fresh to order and the portion size was worth the amount I paid for my meal.
High recommend this restaurant!

I haven't been there since I was younger, remembering how big their gyro were back then. Looked at prices they were very high still order 2 gyro they have no meat they were small $9 cheese burger again small fries were good..Mushrooms absolutely terrible.they fell apart very greasy total cost of my tripThere $60.71 sorry, but I won't be able to do that No more. By the way, mushrooms were $10.

Purchased the gyros and 3 Skewer Kebob and a small fry. I have to question how a hot dog costs $4, and small fries are $6 ???????

Have been stopping by to either dine in or carryout out for as long as I can remember while raising our family in Villa Park. Now that have been about 40 minutes west for past 11 years we still find ways to get food from there very often. When our daughters were littles - getting food from “George’s” was HIGH on their food preference list.
As they are both grown adults raising their families now, our grandchildren now ask for “George’s”.
One of our daughters lives out of state raising her young family so not able to enjoy as much as we do - during the Christmas holidays a couple years ago she asked if our entire family could meet at “George’s”. We had a wonderful holiday meal together there and felt like we were in George’s home full of Greek hospitality and high quality food. We’ve always felt like family there.
It’s pretty easy to feed a young family of 4 with just the pita plate by adding a couple pitas. The fresh cut fries are absolutely delish too. I personally gravitate to a large salad with chicken - can eat 2 meals from that. Will make sure to get photos of our food next time and update this review as I’m a firm believer in lots of photos.
The quality of the food on their menu is more in line with a nicer Greek restaurant but it’s prepared quickly at Gyros Express.

While talking to the owner, l found out that they have been open for 49 years. This is absolutely amazing. Their gyros still taste the same as when l was eating here as a teenager.
