Worth the trip, very good food and friendly staff. We are from San Antonio where Italian equals Olive garden. We will recommended this place by the police staff at the Capitol in Springfield. We drove down and we almost miss a restaurant but when we went in I'm home style food. My wife and I ordered different things. I tried the buffet to get a little sample of everything and my wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs off the menu. The pizza crust was superb, the sauce you could tell it was homemade. It had a richness without any cloying sweetness.
My wife enjoyed her spaghetti greatly and she is extremely picky. The white staff was very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed everything and would highly recommend this restaurant as a stop for anybody who comes serious part of Illinois.
If I had one complaint, it would be a request for the salad bar to include a few More vegetable options such as cucumbers and green olives. Other than that, it has well earned a five-star rating, which if we ever come back to this part of the country you will certainly return.

Been going here since the 90s. We live an hour and a half a way but we always make several visits a year. Never been disappointed! Always great, friendly service that’s spot on. Pizza is always excellent- a buttery crust with a tangy/sweetish sauce - and always loaded with cheese and ingredients. I’ve never found a place I’ve ever felt was better!
