Food was excellent! We had the OG plate (chicken katsu & short ribs) and Braddah Paul's plate (mochiko chicken, pork belly, and poke). The food was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavored. We also tried and thoroughly enjoyed the daily: special Filipino BBQ chicken skewers. We took a trip from Racine, WI just to try this food and it was well worth the hour drive! We'll be back!!!
Da Local Boy is a fantastic gem in Highwood. The food is amazing—they have REAL Portuguese sausage with the eggs and rice—and the spam musubi are delicious. We were there for brunch and can’t wait to go back to try more plates.
The atmosphere is laid back and the decor is beautiful. The service was excellent—Dianne is extremely friendly and welcoming.

I saw Da Local Boy would be at JASC’s Holiday Delight. Got the mixed plate. Pulled pork was so tender and full of flavor. Loved the short ribs and mac salad. It also came w rice. My daughter and I shared, and I ate the rest for dinner. Lots of food and so good! Can’t wait to go the restaurant!
