Even if you aren't in the area, make your way over here! You will not be disappointed. This food was SO on point. At one point I asked who Mom, Grandma or Aunite was in the kitchen. We ate a bit of everything and it was ALL AMAZING! The Owner and family even stopped to speak with us. Wishing them blessings and consistent customers all of 2024! Smoothie were super fresh too.
We parked across the street and walked over, it wasn't bad. This is on list as priority when we travel back.

A great Sunday afternoon lunch with enough leftovers for dinner. Reasonable price for the food options, friendly service and items packaged well for travel home. I hope the restaurant stays around and I hope to try some of their soups on another day when available. Happy to have authentic Jamaica cuisine accessible in Lake County without having to drive to Evanston. We also enjoyed a delicious banana pudding that I ended up having to share with a family member and a beef patty. I look forward to another lazy weekend, in which I don't want to cook food at home, to get some of the favorites I remember my Jamaican mother cooking for me.

The food was horrible literally horrible the ox tails were dry and hard the rice had no seasoning. The dry macaroni left a nasty taste aftertaste. I would never ever recommend this restaurant I don’t know how or who thought this restaurant food was good it is disgusting they charge $25 for garbage. They cannot be Jamaican this is not Jamaican food. I am from Atlanta and Jamaica food is not of this they need to be shut down they should be ashamed of their selves disgusting a disgrace to the Jamaican race. One star is because they put the food in a Styrofoam plate other than that this restaurant is horrible horrible horrible

I was a consistent customer when they were in Waukegan, hated their inconsistency of being open but decided to try them when they located to North Chicago... never again! Placed my order and drove from Grayslake for them to lock the door and say "we closed" . I expressed that my order was already placed he said yeah but you didn't pay for it yet! I said but I spent gas money and time coming here for you to close an hour early?? This is why black businesses have such a bad reputation!! Poor service and unprofessional.

The food was decent and the staff friendly. Ordered the oxtail and goat curry. Both were good and not super spicy. Sides were Mac n cheese, cabbage, and rice. Rice was bland. Cabbage and mac n cheese were good. Next time I will try the jerk chicken.

Just don't go here. Don't waste your time. They have the potential to be a good restaurant but they are inconsistent and never open. Classic case of: just because you can cook doesn't mean you should open a restaurant. But if you catch them on a good day, the food is pretty good. But good luck with that.

This is the place to go if your looking for jerk food in the Waukegan or north Chicago area. Only thing is most of the time they don’t answer the phone so you can’t really order ahead of time if that’s what your trying to do so you have to JUST GO IN AND ORDER.
