Strange combo , yet still killer. Baked Mexican octopus? Yes please . If you are in the area , the service is top notch , not a fancy place but you'll experience something I doubt you have before ...

We were four people that arrived at 6:35pm and told the waitress that we have an 8pm event at the Genesee theater. She promised that she'll make sure to let the kitchen know. We ordered 3 main dishes, an order of Guacamole and 3 drinks. The drinks arrived in a reasonable amount of time but then the wait started, and we waited, and waited, and kept reminding the waitress about our tickets. If we weren't short on time we would have walked out to look for another restaurant. We got our food order 50 minutes later which left us about 10 minutes to eat. A very unpleasant experience. I get that a restaurant may be short on staff on occasion (but Friday evening?) but we never even received an apology. To add insult to injury, only when I got home I noticed (1) we had to pay extra for paying with a credit card and what is worse (2) they added 17% gratuity to the bill without telling us. With the service we received I would have left nothing for the 1st time in my life. This was our 1st and last time at this restaurant.

I ordered a sea boil and was never informed that the shrimp would come head-on. The menu only said “shrimp,” and there was no transparency about how it would actually be served. I would never have ordered it had I known, and the entire meal went to waste. When I called the restaurant, I was told “that’s how it’s usually made,” but the menu should clearly state head-on shrimp so customers know exactly what they are actually getting. I also never received an itemized receipt, so I don’t even know the exact amount for the sea boil. Overall, extremely disappointed. There was no accountability, no effort to make it right, and no resolution offered at all.
Over salty food Enpanadas de camarón dry and undercooked avocado well look at the pic below
Wonderful place! The wonderful lady, let me use her charger when my phone was dead. Came out here for court and was stranded. I was looking around everywhere, everyone either had a usbc charger or didn’t have 1. Once I walked in La Jaiba, I was treated with kindness and the food smelled delicious. I’m definitely coming back soon to try the food. God bless the wonderful family!

The restaurant shows photos of outside seating. In the description, you can ask if they have outside seating, the answer is yes. Walked a long way to eat there with my dog, and no outside seating....please change the information provided to your potential customers.

I can’t even count how many times I try to snap a pic before we dive in, but these two dishes were worth the wait! 🤤 The Aguachile Negra and Ceviche are absolute standouts—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made.

Visited La Jaiba on Mother’s Day for lunch, and although our waitress was amazing the food WASN’T. The molcajete meat was dry, the camarones zaradeados had a odd aftertaste, and our kids meals weren’t good either. Wanted to love this place, however we will not be back.

Totally underrated spot! The agua de chile negra is fire, the palomas are on point, and the service? Don’t even get me started, so good!
The seafood was very tasty and came in large portions. The three of us each got a small entree, but we could have probably split one large entree. We will definitely return to try some of the other dishes.
Camarones al gusto with diablo sauce is a real treat! I don't even know where to begin to describe this new flavor that was introduced to my palette on Saturday. I have already made plans to return for mothersday lunch. Food was excellent, drinks were fun and flavorful! This place is an absolute gem! 100% recommend!
Great fajitas. I got the mixed (chicken, steak and shrimp) with corn tortilla. Warning…the green hot sauce is HOT and the red is FIRE! The table next to us got the boil so that will be next time for sure. The margarita was very tasty as well. Overall, if you are going to see a show at the Genesee, this could be a good choice for pre/post-show dinner.
Excelente comida, ambiente, atención y bebidas. 💯💯
