La Chuparosa Waukegan's Premier Mexican Restaurant

Stopped in yesterday with my husband to give it a try & OMG!! The arracherra & shrimp tacos are CHEF’S KISS 👌🏼 My husband said “it feels like whoever is back there cooking, cares about me” we ordered 2 more tacos because the 1 serving wasn’t enough. We went during happy hour so everything was $8. The decor is nice & the staff were all friendly. Thanks for bringing more culture to our neighborhood! We’ll definitely be back!

A diamond in the rough!! Food, drinks, wait staff and atmosphere was amazing. I loved Pablo!! I will definitely go back. Especially to try the happy hour tacos. A must go to place in Waukegan.

We had an incredible dining experience at La Chuparosa. The food is authentic Mexican cuisine taken to a whole new level—every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the recipes are crafted with true passion.

We had the pleasure of meeting Chef Efraín, whose warmth and creativity shine through in every plate. He took the time to greet us personally, which made the evening even more special.

Our waitress Ale was absolutely wonderful—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made us feel right at home while still delivering top-notch service.

Amazing experience. The food was the most delicious food I’ve had in a while. We had the sashimi which was super fresh and the tacos are so juicy and filling! The octopus was also really good. Will go back again for the sashimi and tacos.

Found this spot a few days ago! Great place to take someone on a date night or take the family. The DJ played straight fire music for 4 hrs straight. We didn't want to leave. Food was good, service was great, atmosphere was great and drinks were great. Will definitely be a regular spot for me.

Want to taste real authentic Mexican flavor with an upscale niche? Please try this restaurant. My wife and I came in last night, early, as we were headed to an appointment so we didn’t have a lot of time. Had HAPPY HOUR tacos and margaritas. Both excellent and at a great price! Michelle our server was superb at her job and everyone else treated us graciously and welcoming. BTW, very cool vibe!!!!! When back in this area, we will enjoy again.

This is a hidden gem. Wonderfully unique Mexican food with fantastic service. Would absolutely come back. The cheese wheel pasta and the skirt steak were delicious.

Service is 10/10! Super welcoming and friendly. Great ambiance, and very clean! Wings, truffle fries, and salmon were great. My dad really enjoyed the pork belly guacamole, and 2 $9 tacos. The Mexican hummus had a sweet taste to it, and I personally was not a fan. Now the food was good, presentation great, but the price did not match in our opinion. The location does not call for city prices either. I hope the plaza is moving more high-end vendors into the area to garner more attention. The demographic for that price I just don’t think is there, and there is really nothing on the menu for people who live in the area to comfortably afford - it is close to steakhouse prices. I love the idea and wish the owners well. **Our family does not eat pork or shellfish, and that is the absolute majority of the menu. There are very limited options already. This does take out a customer chunk too for people who just don’t eat pork, are allergic to shellfish, may be Jewish/other religious reasons
