I’ve eaten from mama jerk n tings now several times. I’ve had a variety of their menu items including the jerked chicken, oxtails and curry goat, Along with several of their sides. They never disappoint. The food is absolutely delicious and “homey”. The ladies at the counter are always pleasant and deliver great service. Being from the Caribbean myself (not Jamaica specifically) the food is very similar to my cultures and I will continue to come back for a piece of home. Thank you!

We are a little sad because we thought we wouldn’t have to drive to Chicago for a good Jamaican restaurant. We had the Jerk Chicken dark with fries, curry goat and oxtails with plantains and rice & peas.The jerk chicken had decent flavor but was tough and dry and the fries tasted stale. The oxtails have no flavor and are mainly bone. Rice was decent and the curry goat was ok but nothing we would go back for. The lady was super sweet and pleasant though.

Between my boyfriend and myself we tried 2 dinners and 4 sides. It was all outstanding and the portions were ample. Service was friendly and the dining room had that honest/simple no frills vibe that let's you know the food is going to be DAMN good. I'd go back in a heartbeat to try the rest of the menu.Also: Try the sorrel! It's perfectly spiced and definitely something I'm going to crave from now on...

We were visiting and looking for Jamaican food near us cause ain't nothing in Waukegan. The catfish will make you slap yo momma and I almost did cause she ordered it and I didn't.
