The first couple of times I have been here the food was good. They messed up a mild that was supposed to be spicy. I could offer criticism like their slaw is very bland and other sides need improvement in true southern taste. But, I won't. My most recent brought them down from 4.5 to a 3. I went in on Saturday at 5:30 the first time asked the brisket. Fresh out. Go out to make a phone call. I ask for the 3 tenders meal. Fresh out. I use to cook food. I know you can dredge them with batter for 15 minutes set and batter them multiple times to get the desired crispness. I go out to make another call. Ask for rib tips. Fresh out. Learn to accommodate your weekend sales vs your week day sales in prepping. It isn't that hard. I have done it as a manager.

The brisket was phenomenal. My wife got the lean and I got the fatty. Both of us were not disappointed. The collard greens rivelled any I've ever had. Staff was more than personable. This ole Sarge has been around the country and all I can say is OUT STANDING!

I went to Test Kitchen BBQ after work today and order a Medium Turkey Basket for $15.99 And I was very disappointed.It was 6 peaces of tips in here, If I didn't live in Wisconsin I would have taken this foolness back. Waukegan restaurant will NEVERRRRR BE BETTER THAN CHICAGO.

I was passing through town and saw this on maps so I decided to test it out. Staff is very friendly. I tried out the brisket and got a pound to go. Sat and had the pulled pork with Mac n Cheese on the side. Everything was top notch. The pork speaks for itself, but the quality of bun was a good touch too. Half sour pickles were good. Everything is good. Go here. You won’t regret it.

After patronizing this place for a few weeks, I became unimpressed when I was charged nearly five dollars for an extra order of fries that I didn’t order. Mistakes happen. I understand. However when speaking with the lady over the phone to attempt to resolve the issue, we could not come to an accord. She wanted me to bring my food all the way back to the restaurant to issue a refund. This is why it is so imperative to check your order before leaving. I was also unhappy with an extra fee added if you’re using a debit/credit card. So it’s best to bring cash when you place your order.
