We had a great time at Lucky Scotties. Unfortunately we arrived when they had A TON of rude and impatient guests. So we didn't get to see their best right away. But after they cleared out, everyone had such a great attitude even after having to go through that. Which I applaud. You absolutely cannot go wrong with the shrimp tacos! We haven't tried much else so I can't give an honest review on the other foods yet. And they hold a RPDR watch party every Friday which was A LOT of fun!

Owner Dave is a great guy. They took over thus dysfunctional establishment and remodeled. Looks fantastic. Dave and wife Gina are the proprietors. Cozy little spot in Waukegan near the Genesee Theatre. I'm sitting here as I review, waiting to catch Bee Gees Gold show down the street. Stop by Lucky Scottie and say hi to Dave.

I'm not familiar with this area but I happened to be in town so I searched "cocktails near me" on google, and this place had 4.5 star rating. It also appeared to have several vegetarian/pescatarian options so I checked it out. It's 5:00 pm on a Wednesday and there's only one other customer in here. I ordered the calamari appetizer and it appears to be breaded and fried frozen calamari - the onion ring type. The liquor and beer selection is very limited. Nothing too great here except a couple of halfway decent bottles of scotch, surprisingly. The Yelp reviews star rating is much lower than the google reviews for whatever reason. I didn't see that until after I got here and sat down. There is Mexican music playing and the bartender is having a conversation in Spanish with the only other customer here. They seem to know each other. I was expecting a bit more from the google reviews and photos but as I said, I'm not familiar with the area. The calamari was served with a bland creamy orange colored sauce. Maybe I should have ordered the shrimp. No paper towels in the men's room but there is soap at least. The service was good but I was the only one there after a short time. It was $35 for 2 servings of cheap cabernet and a frozen calamari appetizer. I still tipped 20%. I probably would not come back.

The food is good, the staff is friendly and the prices are fair. It’s what a family restaurant should be.

Quaint and cozy! A nice variety of gaming and an old town vibe. It was perfect! If you don't like loud surroundings and clubs, this is the casual spot you want. Nice and clean as well!!TV's and a fireplace, with an outdoor area. Great area if you're looking bar hop. It's also very close to public transportation.

Went on a night of a show at the Genessee. Went extra early, knowing it might be busy. We waited almost an hour before asking the waitress about how long it would take, as we had a show to get to. She told us she already knows and immediately told us that a cook had called off and they only had 2 and that the 5 orders that were put in would take about 45 more min, meaning we wouldn't get ours for longer than that. So they wanted us to wait almost 2 hours for our food but not once did they warn us that it would take that long when we got there. When we asked the waitress about letting us know how long it would take, she disappeared and didn't come back for quite some time. It was just a bad experience. I understand being understaffed but at the very LEAST inform your patrons about the wait times for food and give people an option to wait or not. We did not know until we had to seek her out and chase her down to get any info. On top of that, they did not offer to give us any chips or salsa as a courtesy and we ended up going all night without eating because we left about 10 min before the start of the show to get to the show on time. Super disappointing considering I really had wanted to try their food and now I probably will not go back there again. Don't go here unless you have 2-3 hours of free time to wait.
