I offer this as a critigue to help you impove so take it for what its worth? My experince was Not as great as in the past? I came in for a birthday celebration with my sons. The Quality was just fair. Need to access your current food pricing and offerings it seemed out of date and not the best value for price paid. I would look into spending time revising your menus ( they need a redo they look beat) to fit todays currant food trends better. Offer Sushi at tables also. Example add some better ingredients such as vegetable and rice to jazz it up and add value. I say this to help you as I am a fan of your stores and want you to do well. Please tell staff not to stack food trays ontop of one another it us not sanitary and looks tacky and it disappointed me a bit for the price on the quality and portions. I will be back but I usually to Japan 77 in Aurora. I went to this place in michigan and the chef had this little budda that he put on the grill and poured water into it and it spit it out on grill and made a flame. Maybe instead of the onion volcano which is neat but same same and expected. I want you to succeed and I will return just make an effort to keep up with the times and keep tradition absolutely. If you so this you will improve your customer base and make a better profit in the long run.The staff was excellent both service and Chef so kudos to you. Just make adjustments I promised it will be noticed. Maybe check out your competition also and see what is being offered. Suakura on 59 and Aurora ave has lines out the door? Maybe start there first. Botton line is I am a fan and I hope this critique helps you improve. Good Luck!

I should have heeded my fellow Yelpers advice. This place is a dump, mostly from a customer service perspective. We made a reservation on a Sunday night for 630 PM for myself, my two kids and my husband. We were left waiting in the corridor for ten minutes before anyone came to the desk. Strike 1. We were then seated at the hibachi table. From 640 until 715 before anyone came around to ask us for drinks. At this point, my husband is suggesting we head to the Chilis next door. But because she does the drinks, we place our order. She assures us the chef will be right back. We should have left. Strike 2. It is now 730. She returns with our soup. 745: she returns for our soup bowls and to drop of salad. We ask her if there's only one hibachi chef working. She assures us that we are correct. WHAT? Strike 3. 8pm: the hibachi chef finally makes his way to our table. He looks totally overwhelmed. He attempts to put on a good show but his exhaustion is showing. 830: we scarf our food down and ask for the check. We have a Groupon. They refuse to honor it. Granted, it was on the Groupon they could not accept it on Sunday for Mothers Day. The other people we were sharing the table with are pissed. They demand to know what the restaurant will be doing about such shoddy service. "I don't know. I don't make the schedule. Next time don't come on a Sunday"-the hostess. Now, I understand there is a cultural difference/language barrier here, but WOW. Avoid this place at all costs. They need some serious staffing upgrades and spend your money at a place your business is wanted.

Worst experience ever. The Manager was extremely rude. His attitude completely changed when we told him we had a Groupon type voucher. Many other Hibachi places you can visit avoid this one.

The menu online showed sushi. We were only offered hibachi. They only serve sushi on the weekend. Place was dingy. Menus also dingy. Felt dirty. Our meal tasted very good. Prepared as Order. The hibachi chef was great. Our server was awful. We were seated and waited 20 minutes for her to return to place a beverage order. We ordered 2 bottles of saki. The only had one of what we wanted and it was almost room temp. Overall not a good experience Won't be back.

This will always be one of my favorite places to eat. The filet minon and lobster tail are definitely worth the price.

This place is awful. We have 3 kids and eat out often. I haven't written a bad review in years but this place was the worst! No presentation by Jackie, our chef, other than throwing shrimp tails at my kids face. No interaction other than rudeness. My kids ordered shrimp and steak from kids menu. He put mushrooms in the steak and one is allergic. When I stated I wanted just a steak as it was written on menu (no mention of mushroom on menu) he got an attitude with me as if it were MY fault. All steaks come with mushrooms he said. No, this is not our first hibachi. No manager. Empty. Horrendous. Go somewhere else.

We have been coming here for years. Recently, it has taken a turn for the worse. Today my family and I went for lunch. We were the only people there and it still took 20 mins to for someone to take our drink order. The soup was cold, salad soggy. The steak and chicken were not cooked. My husband ordered filet and chicken and they forgot his chicken. When I asked them to remove the chicken from the bill the waitress was very rude. We will never come back.

This place has been a favorite for many years, but it has gotten so run-down, it's ridiculous. Missing ceiling tiles, half-bashed in walls, chairs with zero padding... it's ridiculous. The food, is a mix..... they've cut corners. Very little garlic in the garlic breading, ginger salad dressing is watered down, the spicy mustard is no longer spicy as it, too, has been watered down. Our latest waitress was incredibly surly. She could not get a neighboring party's order right and got increasingly angry with them....they ordered very clearly, it's not their fault you can't figure it out. There were 2 of us in our party and the tip was included in the bill. We typically tip no less than 20% unless the service is incredibly poor, but they charged 18.6%.....Random.......Maybe the Glendale Heights or Aurora locations are a better choice at this point.

STAY AWAY... Words can't describe what my experience was here! I was sat and had to wait a hour and a half before they even took our orders. They even helped other party's before ours that came later. Only reason I stayed was I had a Groupon I already payed for. Then our cook sucked so bad. No FIRE tricks! cooked our food really fast then left. I even asked for my steak more rare that s*** was so over cook I could barely chew it. I would never ever go back. They get no stars from me. STAY AWAY!
