I went here for a nice dinner with my fiancé. Sure it is a little expensive, but can you argue with that when the food is great and the ambiance is so nice? It's right in the heart of downtown Wheaton. The service was friendly and informative. It was the nicest little dinner I've had in a long time.

We always love dining at Sogno, they are always so friendly and you feel like you are at your family's house. They just happened to have 20% off wine for the Sunday nite we were there in the spring, so we got a bottle of pinot noir, which was very good. We had a calamari appetizer with was very good, and I had the Canneloni with short rib meat. The red sauce with this was to die for and you could tell it must have been simmering for hours. My wife had the Cavatelli Salsicce, which had ricotta flour pasta and italian sausage among other things, which I tried and it was very good. We both agreed the Canneloni was the best though. We finished with some limoncella gelato which was amazing. We have been here once before, which was also wonderful, and we'll definitely be coming back.

If you want truly freaking amazing Italian food in downtown Wheaton, then Sogno is a MUST! The owner, Rose along with her wife Tiffany, take pride in the restaurant with her mom as the head chef with true family recipes. Everything on the menu is incredible!

Another great meal at Sogno! We started with the appetizer special of seafood cakes with a cilantro sauce and Ceasar salad. My husband had the pasta special: short rib Genovese on ziti and I had the Cacio e Pepe! Delish!!!!

Great place, but if you come with 5 or more expect to be forced to pay 22% gratuity on your meals full total cost not the subtotal. Regardless of service and quality provided. Would only recommend for a date night. Entirely based on being forced to tip egregiously.

What an amazingly family owned restaurant. Everything about it exceeded my expectations. The staff were jovial, fun, knowledgeable when asked for recommendations and prompt without hovering. They adjusted to our pace with ease. Food was spectacular all the way to dessert. Cocktails and wine choices were excellent. Wish I had discovered this gem sooner. Rarely do restaurants make you feel enjoyed as a guest, this aspect plus the food quality made Sogno live up to its meaning, Dream.

This is my favorite restaurant in the Western Supburbs. The food is consistently wonderful. The owners of this restaurant treat people like family. The service is amazing. Great wine selecting and authentic Italian. Highly recommend

Great food, very nice server, nice ambiance. Stairs into restaurant very difficult to get up. I know there is an elevator, but it's way in the back. The food was delicious and so worth the specialty drinks try the peach blossom.

Can’t say enough amazing things about Sogno! Finding this place feels like I’ve discovered a hidden gem and I’m extremely confident in recommending this place to anybody who wants to celebrate something special and enjoy true Italian dining.Where do I start?! Sogno is probably my most frequent date night spot. Its a tradition that every time we go we arrive early and grab a drink at the bar before getting seated. I love the watermelon aperol spritz (best aperol spritz I’ve ever had)!Getting a table on the rooftop is truly an experience. You get to sip a glass of wine under a canopy of colorful flowers with an amazing view of downtown Wheaton, enjoying a warm summer day, need I say more?? You honestly can’t go wrong dining inside on the main floor either, no matter what you’re in for a treat. The food is absolutely delicious. I get the cacio e pepe every time and they come out with a giant parmesan cheese wheel and toss their freshly made pasta in it next to me table-side! My boyfriend always gets the short rib with either the parmsan or butternut squash risotto and he says if he had to choose his last meal on earth it would be this one!We already can’t wait for our next visit!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The only thing stopping this from getting a full 5 stars from me is the fact that I made my reservations for February, in December. I specifically asked for our favorite table, as it is the table we always have on our anniversary. When we were being seated, the guide tried to sit us at a table across from the one we reserved. She tried to tell us someone else had requested that spot. I informed her it was I who had reserved it. She left and came back to say that another couple had requested it but since we were there first, they would give it to us.. LOL! I think the fact that I requested the table 2 months ago should have put my husband and I at the top of the list for the table. This little hick-up made us feel like they wernt paying attention to our reservations. When the "other couple" arrived, they were seated in the spot the guide originally tried to place us and they were not happy. The entire dinner we could hear them bad mouthing us and mocking my husbands laugh. I wish the restaurant would have informed the other couple that the table they wanted had been reserved 2 months in advance to avoid the "competition" of whoever shows up first... Not very professional in my opinion. If you see 2 couples requesting the same spot on the same night at the same time... maybe you should see who places the reservation first.. not just whoever shows up first.

Venturing into IL Sogno in Wheaton, Illinois, is akin to stepping into a realm where modern elegance meets culinary ambition. From the first moment inside, you're greeted with decor that strikes a delicate balance between contemporary flair and a welcoming atmosphere. This establishment spreads its charm across two floors, offering diners a choice of ambience that adds a unique touch to the dining experience. The service here elevates the meal to something beyond mere eating. Our server was a paragon of hospitality, adept at connecting with a mosaic of diners, each with their own stories and expectations. Where his own experience with the menu's offerings fell short, he sought wisdom from those more knowledgeable, ensuring our culinary journey was both personal and enlightening. The menu, a testament to the restaurant's commitment to homemade authenticity, offered a journey of flavors with some notable highlights and a few detours. The calamari, intended to be a crispy delight, missed its mark with a texture that leaned more towards the soggy and bouncy, leaving a yearning for that satisfying crunch.Yet, redemption was found in the cacio e pepe, not just through its perfectly al dente homemade noodles but also through the beautifully cooked chicken that accompanied it. This dish stood out as a masterpiece, marrying simplicity with profound flavor. Served from a Parmesan wheel, it brought a touch of theatricality to our table, creating not just a meal, but an experience. However, the gnocchi presented a departure from the evening's culinary highs. Its dense texture hinted at an overenthusiastic kneading process, missing the mark of the light, pillowy consistency that gnocchi aficionados cherish. The accompanying sauce, too, felt less like the product of a passionate kitchen and more akin to a store-bought selection, lacking the depth and homemade warmth one might expect.Despite this, the dessert offerings and thoughtful pricing brought the experience back into a positive light. The dessert menu, while not groundbreaking, provided a satisfying conclusion to our meal, and the pricing reflected a fair exchange for the quality and ambiance provided. In summary, IL Sogno is a place of effort and ambition, where the pursuit of homemade culinary excellence is evident. It's in this striving, this dedication to creating something genuinely special, that the restaurant finds its true identity. With its highs and occasional lows, IL Sogno offers more than just a meal—it invites diners on a journey of flavor, innovation, and connection.

We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. Our server gave us time to relax & catch up with our friends over a drink before ordering dinner. The Risotto Special never disappoints and the Pear Pistachio salad was delicious.

Our food was outstanding! Our server could not have been more attentive without being bothersome. And the restaurant was so comfortable and inviting. Want to try out the rooftop when the weather warms up.
