Hidden gem!!This food is so good! With plenty of vegan options! The waiter's recommendation were on point! Can't wait till next time and I just left!UPDATE: this is (still) my favorite restaurant! I cant get over how much I love everything I've tried here and I'm not a big foodie. All my carnie friends like my vegan dishes more than their meat dishes. Veggie spring rolls = must try!!! Any vegan salad divine!!! This is your sign to make the trip here and have the meal your tastebuds will still be talking about years laterVegetarian options: Vegan options!!! All so good, must get spring rolls and salads!

Ah.mazing food! So fresh, interesting, and tasty combinations of flavors. It’s BYO and nice and casual environment. Do yourself a favor and go!
No Zabiha or Halal Certification, Christian's Owners, I went there yesterday for Eid and thinking that it was a halal restaurant because of the reviews but there is no certification whatsoever , I asked if the owners were Muslim but they are christian, I recommended to them to get certified and get the certification from the islamic center of Illinois and she said she would look into it. she said that she is certified , but no proof. I am a practicing Muslim from Naperville looking for Asian food but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place until they get certified. The only sad news is that the food was delicious and no pork but unfortunately for me I would need to be more convincing with certification, then a non-Muslim telling me that it's HalalBy the way they do have a lot of options for noodles and for vegetarian instead of eating the chicken and beef

No lie this is my favorite restaurant in the entire Chicagoland area. I live abroad and this is always my first stop when I come back home. Incredible food, incredible service.
The food was delicious and the service was very attentive. Food has a wonderful balance of the many flavors. The samosa is different than those you might have had before - no peas. The hint of cilantro was perfect!! Will def be back!!!

Our first experience eating Burmese and it was excellent! The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional. We had a five-course meal consisting of appetizers, soup, salad, a noodle dish and a main course. Will definitely go back again.
I’m still thinking about the ginger salad, tea leaf salad, and vegan noodles. Surpassed my expectations! I will recommend to everyone and look forward to going back.

We've visited Pa Lian many times, and each visit has been consistently delightful. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of authentic Burmese delicacies crafted with the freshest ingredients and bursting with delightful flavors. Our favorites include the flavorful Mohinga, refreshing Tea Leaf Salad, and satisfying Nan Gyi Thoke. What truly sets Pa Lian apart is the impeccable service provided by owner. He is not only incredibly attentive but also knowledgeable about the menu. Additionally, we've been pleasantly surprised by the owner's occasional off-menu treats, which have always been outstanding.
Absolutely delicious food, the crispy spring rolls are the best I’ve had in ages, and the sweet and sour sauce is utterly unique and perfect. Tawk, the server, was a delight. Definitely recommend!

What a pleasant surprise! Pa Lian has a comfortable and welcoming interior, with a nicer ambiance than I expected... and the food/service didn’t disappoint either. I went there with 4 friends and we decided we'd experiment and share as it was our first time there. It's an "BYOB" place, so we brought drinks to share and had water there. The service was outstanding, our server was very helpful and he made a number of great suggestions: We started with the Tea Leaf Salad, the Ginger Salad and the Shrimp Salad, and then moved on to Chicken Mango and Beef with Fermented Black Bean. Everything was great, and we'll be back to try more... we loved it, and I'll look forward to coming back again!

One of the only Burmese restaurants in the surrounding area and it doesn't disappoint. Notes of Indian, southeast Asian, and Chinese food influence result in a uniquely mixed cuisine. Definitely worth trying more of the menu.
