My wife and I decided to explore Proof No. 5 for lunch, enticed by its top-ranking due to its beautiful interiors. However, we approached our visit with caution due to mixed reviews about its pricing.Upon arriving, we found the restaurant relatively empty and unnecessary for our reserved table. The warm welcome and prompt seating set a positive tone for our experience. The place is beautiful and is worth going just for the location. For appetizers, we opted for the bison meatballs and a beet salad. While the meatballs were satisfactory, they didn't quite stand out. The beet salad, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me—an avid non-salad eater. Its flavors were vibrant and refreshing.Moving on to the main course, we decided to share the lobster linguine. Unfortunately, this dish fell short of expectations. Despite its hefty $42 price tag, the taste didn't justify the cost, leaving us disappointed.Just as we were contemplating ending our meal on a sour note, we decided to peruse the dessert menu. Our choice to try the German chocolate trifle turned out to be the highlight of the meal. Bursting with coconut flavor and decadent chocolate, it completely redeemed our dining experience. I would confidently rate it a 9/10.In retrospect, while Proof No. 5 may have its ups and downs, I would suggest overlooking the underwhelming lobster entree and indulging in their delightful desserts.

This has been my second time here. Everything from the ambience to the food and service is incredible. I have tried almost everything on the menu and the item that I am least impressed with are the fires. Everything else on the menu has so much flavor and the presentation is on point. They offer a nice selection of wines. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant.

Cocktails, wine, ambiance, and staff are all 5 stars. Get the bread, cheese plate, and fries off the starters menu. The duck pierogis are ok if you skip the orange whip. It has a candied fruit flavor that overwhelms the palate. We've had several different mains, and everything on the menu we have had leans sweet and one-dimensional. When eating a main dish, I'm looking for some salty respite of some sort, so if you order a main, make sure you have the cheese dish on the side as relief. Maize and Mash is still the one to beat of all the restaurants in this family, and Prood No. 5 has the least appealing food of the three restaurants in the area. All said and done, it's good and we will be going back.

I had a pleasantly surprising experience at Proof No. 5. The restaurant's romantic ambiance, although dimly lit, felt cozy and inviting. We were promptly seated and received attentive service from our friendly server. Our meal included a variety of dishes: the Proof Cobb salad, Bison Meatballs, Cheese Board, and Snack Hand Cut Fries. There was more than enough food for the three of us, and overall, everything was delicious. While the meatballs were a bit heavy on the spices, they were still enjoyable. I did wish that the cheese board had included some grapes or other fruit for a refreshing contrast. The drinks were delicious, adding to the enjoyment of our evening. We finished our meal with a German Chocolate Trifle, which had just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I was very impressed with Proof No. 5 and will definitely be returning. I'll be sure to recommend it to my family and friends as well.

We'd read about this place opening and we'd been to the groups other restaurants. Went for lunch, menu seemed nice, but after ordering it sees they missed the markCheese plate, easy breezy basic and good. 6/10Crudo, Amazing- balanced and full of flavor. 10/10Duck perogi, good idea but ill executed. The balance of the dish was off, there was a sweetness that didn't belong. Duck didn't seem right but wrapper was light and fluffy. 4/10Meatballs, the meatball was light and fluffy, delicious. The sauce was sweet and under seasoned, polenta tasted like instant and cooked in water. Rather disappointed. 2/10Drinks were fine.

The Grouper entree was spectacular! Drinks were creative. I wouldn't spend money on the bread and butter appetizer.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free and vegan options.Parking: There is a parking garage nearby if you can't find parking on the street. Even the parking garage gets full during prime weekend dinner hours.Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend this place for kids.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible

The appetizer fries, amazing. That was our favorite since we didn’t enjoy our meals very much. I convinced my boyfriend to try the $76 Dry Aged NY strip and the consistency was great but the flavor was nonexistent. It was disappointing and I felt horrible for convincing him to spend the money on what I thought would be worth it. The lobster linguine was alright but surprisingly blander than I was expecting. It was sad since I was far too excited to try a newer restaurant and I never really have these experiences. I will say that the ambience, environment, and decor is impeccable. The vibes are really incredible and I enjoyed being there but I really believe that the food could be better. The presentation is great but the flavor needs some touches but that is just our personal opinion. The server was very sweet but it was sad finishing our appetizer and waiting pretty long to get our entrees. From being a server in fine dining myself, I know it is ideal for the food to arrive when the appetizer is finishing up so it was unfortunate to be sitting there with nothing on the table besides an empty plate from our appetizer. If you have the money to spend, by all means yes try new places but if you don’t do this very often and only go to nice places on occasions, I cannot say that I would recommend the food here but if it is for appetizer fries and wine, yes the overall atmosphere is great to be in.

A consistently excellent experience - I love this place, it was my 3rd visit. The atmosphere and service are fabulous. The drinks and food superb! I started with the Primo Old Fashioned - properly prepared, Foie Gras Mousse - silky perfection with amazing flavors and presentation, and Tuna Crudo - a delicious work of art. The Filet Medallions, prepared MR, melted in my mouth - they were perfectly seared and flavorful. The glass of Austin Hope Cabernet was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, Old Fashioned Crème Brûlée - two of my favorite things in one!, and a glass of brut champagne for the win! I can’t wait to visit again.

I wanted to like this place, but the service was so slow and the food took forever to come out. I asked our waitress for a side of ranch with my fries and she said they don’t have ranch but they do have “Sauce Choron” if I wanted to try it. Little did I know after checking my receipt, they would charge me $3 for a small side of sauce. If I had been told it was $3, I wouldn’t have gotten it. Also I don’t think I’ve ever been to any establishment that had the audacity to charge that much for a side of sauce. My lobster roll and fries were great.

Delicious food and very imaginative combinations. Great service as well. The duck pierogis were very tasty, and the dirty rice that came with the grouper was delicious.

Sorry to say that this new restaurant did not live up to the expectations. The service was very slow and they weren't that busy. The food was just mediocre at best and not fresh, for the prices they charge $$. We wanted so much to like this new place but will not be going back.
