As always a wonderful place to eat. The prices are steep, but the food and portions are excellent and worth the price. The table Preparation is always enjoyable to watch.

We always love Benihana. However, this time the chef was heavy on the salt. Even another couple at our table thought it was too much. I tried the yakisoba for the first time here. I've had it elsewhere and loved it. This had a very different seasoning that I did not care for. I'll have to go back to my usual choice. The chef did do an excellent presentation. Very entertaining. Fried rice was delicious.

Very annoying that we were placed w a family that had an issue “with the fire” —they tried to make a joke of it but we came for the fire! It was my daughter's birthday! Dont impose your issues on others... remove the child from the table rather than restrict others' experience... had we known we could have sat in the other room and saved a lot of money.

The food and our cook were great. This is the third or fourth time we've had Omar as our chef and he's just a ton of fun and cooks everything perfectly. However, I feel like our server was taken care of too many tables and we kept having to look for her to get drinks. Overall, a good time and the perfect place to celebrate a birthday.

The food was way too oily. The shrimp and scallops should be opaque when cooked, but since the y had too much oil in it they were translucent and not tasty and undercooked. Our waiter was very sloppy.

We were seated next to two tables a children's birthday party. The adults were just as loud as the children. They were extremely loud. As much as we understood there were celebrations however there was zero consideration for those who were trying to enjoy an expensive dinner. We have frequented this establishment for many years the prices keep increasing while the portion of chicken was extremely small. It was quite obvious. The chef was just walking away from cooking our meal when the waitress asked what ice cream we wanted. Then soon after the check came. We felt rushed. Quality and atmosphere has deteriorated significantly.

My dining experience never disappoints at Benihana's! We love the food and the staff at the Wheeling location. We go on special occasions; sign up for the $30 bday coupon, and whenever we want a dorm amazing steak! I look forward to our next visit.

Not our first time. Benihana seems to be the Birthday Capital of Wheeling, which is fine... adds to the ambiance of multi cultural servers singing Happy birthday in Japanese. The celebratory souvenir photos are a nice touch. The tableside show seems to be losing its luster, I'd love to see the training manual for an onion volcano or spatula juggling. Not every chef masters it so well. ***be sure to verify your order. My son got NO ENTREE at all because server misunderstood his request for fried rice...it's a little loud and there are some language barriers with the staff. Order by number would help. Our table partners also clearly didn't get what they expected because the mom packed up the entire meal. By the time you realize something is wrong it seems too late to fix it because everyone else has already been served or their food is getting cold. $7 upcharge per person for fried rice seems ridiculous. I don't think it used to be like that. The entree prices are high enough already. I'm not so keen on coming back to Benihana much as I like the menu.

We came with a party of 9 and our server was so amazing. Andreas was super quick and helpful with filling the drinks of everyone, including the needy 5 kids in our crew. Our cook was fun and made delicious food. Great experience.

I had the worst experience this evening at Benihana after being a regular for over 25 years. I was there for dinner with my family a party of five. We unfortunately had to share our table with someone wearing a graphic Trump MAGA tee shirt. I didn't realize it until we were seated. I'm shocked and disappointed a business like Benihana would allow someone wearing a potentially offensive to other customers to actually come in and dine in the restaurant. I understand not wanting to turn that customer away but why seat other customers at the same table?? First of all this is what I consider a high end restaurant. The tab is usually at least $200. But during this political climate to allow someone wearing a graphic tee shirt is unacceptable. I don't want to share my table with someone promoting all the horrible things MAGA and Trump are promoting. It's fine for you Benihana if you encourage this but you shouldn't seat people wearing offensive graphic tee shirts. I would have preferred not seeing this.

The food and service were wonderful, but when making the reservation I put down that it was my husband's birthday and it was forgotten about by the staff

A group of friends and I went there on Thursday night in Wheeling and we were extremely disappointed! What happened to the show and entertainment? Our “chef” did one “trick” and it didn’t work. Besides that…he did NOTHING! He wasn’t even speaking to us! I definitely will not be returning.
