Salt and pepper lobster meat was soggy. ? Overpriced, low quality. Coasting on historical reputation. Go to nearby Boston Seafood or Red Lobster.

I have not been here awhile and drove over 53 minutes to get there. I had not eaten King Crab legs in years and thought it was time. The experience is still the same. The seafood is excellent and the garlic buns is something you can’t resist to eat more than one. The Guava drink is excellent drink that I had to get a refill. I will be back.

Delicious food and fabulous service. It doesn’t get any better than this. Our server was Jeanine. I can honestly say that she gave the best quality of service that I have ever experienced. She thought of everything!! Her recommendations were right on, and she seemed to know what we needed before we ever even asked. This woman is the absolute best—very considerate and thoughtful. I am from Texas, and I was eating with a friend from Chicago who has been eating at this restaurant for years, and she told me the food was outstanding. She was right, of course, but the amazing service made my experience even more special. We all had the grilled halibut. It was perfection! The desserts were very unique and all delicious as well. Highly recommend!!

Was going to try this place but after reading all the recent reviews it's clear that it has gone downhill. WIll not even think of going there since they are running on fumes of distant memories.

We had gone there for dinner with friends and kids. Loved every bit. Loved the fresh garlic bread soaking in butter . We couldn’t stop at 1. We tried the king crab legs, calamari, scallops in bacon and lobster. I would not only go Here for the food but for the experience , ambience and the awesome staff .

Drove from Michigan to take my daughter to O’Hare and went out of the way to have lunch, as we used to eat at Bob Chins whenever visiting family in the area. Two people had dinners with shrimp and complained about the strange flavor, I ordered halibut after being told all the other fish was farm raised and frozen. The menu is a shell of what it used to be, the restaurant was fairly deserted for a Sunday afternoon. We were all upset upon leaving, thinking about all the wonderful family memories we had there and the fact that we will never return. I will say the salad bar and the Mai Tai were the only things that were ok.

My favorite all time seafood house with the best Mai Tais ever. Seared Tuna with mushrooms and onions is what I’ve had at least twice but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The Crab Claw appetizer is large and delicious. You must have a Mai Tai, they’re amazing. Warner (if ever) back in Chicago… I’ll be there again.

Not the Bob Chinn I remembered. The menu items are fewer. The incredible Tuna Sashimi I used to order is no longer available. The raw oysters are tasteless because it was served with the meat attached to the top shell with no oyster juice (liquor) (no one eats oysters this way- it's called cutting corners)the made-to-order entire King crab is no longer available. Don't plan to go back ever. Really missed the old Bob Chinn

Very sad! Used to be a great place. I have gone for decades. No more. The atmosphere has always been like a cafeteria. Paper napkins, old decor and vegetable baskets as lights. They spent nothing when it was built and in decades nothing since. BUT the Seafood WAS outstanding. I would wait in line to eat. No more lines. Our food was awful. Frozen, not fresh. Maybe they were sold…..I cant imagine it lasting much longer. Regardless, you will find better seafood elsewhere and maybe even a cloth napkin.

Bob's is a great seafood restaurant and has been for the past couple of decades. Top notch seafood and their steaks are excellent too (surf and turf). Get the Mai Tai and the Garlic bread and you will not forget eating at Bob Chinn's!

I used to visit this restaurant 2 or 3 times a month. So with the new mgmt - they have reduced the menu - increased the charges and taken away items that used to be free. The Cole slaw - I loved it - you now pay extra if not a choice you make with your approved number of sides. The salad bar used to be for everyone ordering a main course. Now $18 dollars “period”. No exceptions. The reduced menu - not even 1/2 of what it used to be - what happened? Oh - new management. You may get some new customers - but the reliable past customers will soon wise up and find another seafood restaurant. Yes - one of the first with fresh seafood - but no longer. Any restaurant can get fresh seafood. So that challenge is out. Just a disappointed past customer that will probably not be back. Good luck with the New Management - definitely not the vision of Bob Chinn.

Terrible experience. Went with a group of 12 and all of left unsatisfied with our meals. One diner had a steak that was undercooked. Sent it back and it came out charred and well done. I ordered the Lobster Stir fry and received what looked like old grey rice and only a few pieces of lobster. It was advertised as having half a pound of lobster. Had very high expectations and left there disappointed. Do not recommend.

This is my favorite restaurant- as in if I had one last meal, I’d want to have here. I know that might sound crazy, but we eat out a lot and I’m telling you this place is outstanding. The bacon wrapped scallops are to die for and the sauce… omg. Their chargrilled fish is unbelievable. My favorite food on the planet. Whenever they have halibut, that’s my go-to. If not, the grouper is my next favorite, all chargrilled with their amazing seasoning. This time around I had red snapper. Very good. Fish never tastes or smells fishy here… not even close! It’s flown in fresh and never frozen. If you like fish, this is the perfect place for you! My husband also loves the triple lobster tail dinner and the sushi, not my thing, he also loves here. No one has ever had a bad meal here and we’ve been many, many times. This time my husband had the salad bar, we stopped for lunch, and he said it was the best salad he ever had, again everything is SO fresh!!! The staff work together like a well oiled machine and they are friendly and on the ball. Don’t miss this place if you love seafood. I sure do wish they would bring back the pineapple cream cheese for the plain rolls, really miss that!

Whenever one of us has a birthday, or anniversary we usually hear, "Let's go to Bob Chinn's! We've said and done this for over 20 years. We find the food and the service still very good, but since the pandemic we've noticed some changes. The menu has FAR fewer items than in the past. We can usually find something we like, just not as many choices. The good news for the customer, if not the restaurant, is that there's far less of a crowd than there used to be. They take reservations now which they never did before, so we've never had to wait as before, especially on Friday and Saturday night. More good news is that the menu prices have not increased much, unlike some other restaurants. We find that the prices of some of our regular 'not fancy or especially memorable restaurants' have raised their prices to the same as Bob Chinn's if not higher. You can check the Chinn's menu out online. I guess nothing is the same as it used to be, but we still love going to Bob Chinns

I went here for lunch. The garlic rolls are great. The Drinks were great. The king crab legs were absolutely great. A great spot.
