Was so shocked I was served this!!! Ice cream good but the portion and price very unexcepted. I asked for two scoops and really received less then one scoop with a staled waffle cone. The two little scoops didn’t even go ro the bottom of the come and then charged way way to much!!!

For me, this is an okay La Michoacana location. The store is large, the prices are fair, parking isn't too bad, service is quick, and there is plenty of selection. The big difference was that I didn't get the same level of joy that I get when going to other locations. That comes down to not getting the same joyful experience that I've had at other locations.Usually, La Michoacana is full with a reasonable wait to get food. This is where I'll typically see people debating ice cream flavors, hanging out with friends inside and outside the restaurant, and trying samples of all different items. This location was not busy at all, which made for an unusual atmosphere. I also didn't get the usual friendly smiles and recommendations that I typically get from staff at other locations, so the service wasn't as complete as I've experienced elsewhere. There were also chairs already put up over an hour before closing time which made the restaurant feel less inviting.Overall, it's not a bad place to get ice cream but there are better La Michoacana locations nearby that I'd rather go to.

Disappointing. That's the best way to describe La Michoacana in Wheeling. My husband and I have been to several other locations. Every time we've gone to another location, there have been many other people in the restaurant. When we got there, we were the only ones there. And it stayed that way for a while. On a warm summer night, there should have been a line out the door. This restaurant had its ice cream flavors labeled, which I appreciated. When we ordered, we were given very small scoops of ice cream in our banana split. The night before, we went to the La Michoacana in Palatine, and the ice cream overflowed the container. This is in stark contrast to what we received here. The ice cream was also not as creamy as we have had at other locations. The bottom line is that if you want to go to La Michoacana, I'd go to one of their other locations.

I was disappointed to buy here as it's not an authentic Michoacana. I asked for an Esquite which is different from Elote and they gave me Elote even after we told the guy they're not the same. The lady here was not very friendly. The fruit is where you can see it and it's a great idea except it does not look fresh.

Worst Mangonada I ever had :-( Not even a single piece of mango added to the ice cream, it was just the ice cream dipped in very very spicy chilli lime juice . She added too much chili lime powder which was extremely spicy. Only after asking for tamarind candy , she gave it to me. I think tamarind candy is very old and not good to taste. Overall the worst tasted Mangonada.

Chicharrón preparado didn't have tomatoes, it contained 2 avocado slices ? and cheese was added, I have eaten in different establishments and this is the first time that it was served like this, Not pleasant with cheese. The corn that I was served didn't have liquid butter or enough mayonnaise, I'm disappointed and will not recommend this establishment.
Chocolate covered frozen strawberries! If you have sensitive teeth, I wouldn’t recommend!!

I am obsessed with elotes and the yogurt with fruit whenever I order at La Michoacana locations. I have tried 5+ locations and was surprised that I like their elotes here the best! Other locations can either be on the dry side or maybe too much mayo and not enough chili pepper. I think I liked theirs the best here because the corn itself tasted very buttery. If you're in the area try an elotes with everything, get some plain yogurt with your choice of fruit and don't forget the granola! Mangonadas are also another must try! (dessert with mango ice cream, chamoy and chili powder) They also have a lot of ice cream flavors. I love the guayaba and lime flavors with a drizzle of chamoy!Lastly, take some paletas home with you! My go to flavors are coconut, strawberry and chocolate. They have a wide variety of flavors, many that you don't normally see in grocery stores, give them a try!
