Sunday was our first time having dinner at MP Kitchen and Bar in Wheeling Town Center. We have always ordered carryout in the past. We love the food from this local restaurant. The staff and ambiance were welcoming.
My Protein Cobb salad with Balsamic dressing and Sweet Potato Fries were both excellent! MP's Ribs and Mac and Cheese are a favorite of my husband. I am also a big fan of the Fig'n Awesome burger and the house made chips. Cocktails, beer and wine are offered in the restaurant. They also have an extensive catering menu.

Up and coming restaurant and bar! Nicole is an awesome bartender that really makes you feel welcomed and mixes great drinks! The MacDaddy burger is so over the top! Mac and cheese on a burger! DAMN!

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and I was very disappointed with their service.
Firstly, I was served cold soup, which was not only unappetizing but also below the standards of a quality meal.
Secondly, we were unexpectedly told we did not have much time left because the place closed at 9 and it was 9:01. We were told this while we were still in the middle of our meal and when we had order a bottle of wine. This rude behavior made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Such treatment is not only unprofessional but also highly disrespectful to paying customers.
The service at this restaurant is unacceptable and far from meeting the client’s expectations.

Water garbage . Flatbread with a hair on it thankfully they replaced it .burger so so. Salad awful not fresh .atmosphere can’t say anything nobody was there on Saturday afternoon,that actually should ring a bell. I’m disappointed

I visited this restaurant on 9/8/24 with a friend, and we will never come back. We ordered a bottle of wine and a few appetizers. The chili was cold, and we had to send it back. The place closes at 9, exactly at 9:01, our waitress came to offer some boxes while I was still actively eating. We said we needed a couple more minutes, and she said we couldn't stay any longer because they closed at 9. We tried to finish quickly because we felt watched and rushed. We still had some wine left, and we asked if we could take it since they were kicking us out, and they said no. The bartender stepped in and said she wasn't aware of the situation and that we could finish it there, we literally had to drink it fast. Both my friend and I work in restaurants , and we know this is not the way to go. We understand that sometimes you do have to wait a bit after closing times. Another thing is putting all the chairs up on the tables while they're still customers eating. That's a huge no-no. Overall, it was a pretty bad experience. Our waitress was Nycole G

We decided to grab a bite before enjoying some live music on a Friday night and I was really impressed with the service—both inside the restaurant and outside at the live music area. Even though they were very busy, the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. They made sure we were well taken care of throughout the evening.
The drinks were served just right and were fantastic. We especially enjoyed the cocktails and the selection of craft beers—both were well-crafted and refreshing. The menu had a great variety of options that complemented our night perfectly.
The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, adding to the enjoyment of the night. We’ll definitely be back!

I really love this spot. There really is no place that tells you that they specialize in man food: meat and potions. If Tim Allen was here, he'd make his signature "Home Improvement" grunt.
This used to be a fast casual in Lake Zurich, but closed and reopened as a sit down restaurant in Wheeling -- and that was a HUGE improvement! The ambiance is relaxed and fun (they even have a wall for perfect social media pics). They have a nice outdoor seating area that (thankfully) is not on top of the main courtyard that features live music in the summer. I say "thankfully" because you can't hear yourself think let alone other diners in the other restaurants closer to the live music. Meat and Potato is a nice distance away.
The food is well worth the visit. This is comfort food to the nth degree. I mean, they have poutine. And it's fabulous! The pot roast is delicious! Burgers are juicy. Nachos and Buffalo Mac are all good. Flatbreads are tasty. And the bartenders know their drinks. I have eaten something different at each visit and the food seems to get better and better. No idea how they do it, but I leave full and satisfied.
This is a must to try and add to your list to continually return to again and again and again.
