I love this place! It's a Small mom and pop shop. They have great food and good prices. Creamy chicken noodle soup is delicious .

We went there last Sunday for breakfast. The food was very good, but now I see why they were not too crowded. I think these three things are rough points for them: 1. Inattentive and poor service. There were only two other customers in the restaurant besides us and both servers would sit in the back of the restarting on their phones. No one greeting you as you come in. They didn't make too many rounds once you were seated. Waited a very long time just to get someone's attention to ask for a to go container. 2. Men's bathroom. Yikes. Toilet doesn't flush well, seat is coming off and sliding around, and it didn't look like it was cleaned for a few weeks. 3. Just plain old hot and stuffy inside. Maybe not good air conditioning? Who wants to be sweating when they eat breakfast? It was cooler outside! But, our food was good and was made with fresh ingredients.

Getting rear ended on my way to this establishment was an omen of what was to come. I think 10 AM is still a prime time breakfast hour and I noticed that it was pretty empty when we walked in at 10:30. I told my plus one that I wanted to leave because it was empty and he said no let's give it a shot. We were then greeted by an awkward hostess who ended up being our server. He never said hello or introduced himself, he only asked "how many?". Now he turned into our server, as our server he never told us what the specials were or if they even had any, the menu didn't indicate that was the case, unless I somehow missed that, but I doubt it since I flipped through the entire menu.This restaurant wasn't welcoming at all, just very odd. We placed our order and after we place an order we started looking around... We looked around saw dirty black ceiling tile covered in dust, which to me was an indicator of cleanliness or lack of. We noticed a booth that had duck tape on the seat holding it together. We were then brought water in the cups looked filthy and old, the water appeared cloudy, and in no way thirst quenching. We stared at our cups never taking a drink. When our food arrived it didn't look appetizing. I saw our server touch my hash browns accidentally as he placed it on the table, after seeing him work the hostess stand, serve us, and go back to the kitchen I questioned the sanitation of my food. My plus one and I didn't eat our food or drink our coffee (coffee tasted old), we moved our food around on our plates. I did however eat the toast as it's pretty much impossible to mess up toast. My plus one asked for a to go box as he didn't want to appear rude for not touching his food. When we received the to go box the clasp that made it close was torn... we decided to leave all the food paid in cash and left....never again. We walked over to County Farm Bagel and ate some real breakfast.

We had been visiting someone at the hospital so we were looking for some place close. We were pleasantly surprised how good everything was. I had the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious and a turkey croissant sandwich that the menu said the turkey was "carved off the bone" and was moist and generously served. The prices are very fair as well.

Date of my visit: 16-August-2017 Time of my visit: Lunch Total bill (with tax, but not including tip): $13.15 So I wanted to try a different place for lunch and this joint looked appealing enough. I walked a little after noon and I was surprised as to how empty the place was. I was seated almost immediately and ordered water no ice to drink. I looked over a menu and based on the recommendations from my waiter, ordered Club Sandwich with fries and also added side salad. My sandwich also came with a cup of soup. My soup, Chicken Noodles, came out first. It was not anything special, about average. The salad was up next... it was exactly what you'd expect from fast-food-type-side-salad. Club sandwich and fries came out next. Fries were your typical, pre-frozen type, very, very average. Club Sandwich was the best of them all, well put together, tasted fresh. The service was, well, subpar... Not that I was expecting 5-star service, but a bit more attentiveness would have been nice. The waiter disappeared at times, it took forever to get my check. I did, however, get a discount (15% with Yelp! check-in), after reading some of the reviews, I was expecting more of a fight. I got $1.80 off my bill. Overall a C experience. Not sure if I would be back.

Being newer to Winfield I wanted to try some of the local restaurants & our experience at Oakfield has been great both times I've been there. The menu isn't fancy, but the food is good, especially their soups and the servers have been nice. I would recommend if you are looking for a nice, mom & pop place to eat.
