U Gazdy Polish Restaurant

My Polish partner hyped me up about this place so I agreed to check it out for the first time yesterday October 30th (I'm not Polish). The restaurant was not really packed as it was almost 3pm on a week day. We ordered quite a bit of food and it was all good. And even though this was my first time eating Polish food, I liked it.

My only complain was the terrible service. We were basically left alone after they served us our food: none of the servers even dared to touch even more so collect our empty dirty plates so the table was a mess. There was one female server that took away my partner's empty plates away but never of mine (it felt weird, I've never experienced this type of disregard from the many restaurants of different cuisines that I've ever been too), it takes a looong time to get the server's attention even asking for boxes and the bill. They were just simply inattentive and didn't care. After the mains, we initially planned to order more but because we were put off by the service, we just decided to get everything to-go and leave.
Bottom line is, food was good, terrible service esp to me who's not Polish, and we will def go somewhere else to eat Polish food.

Simply delicious! Clean restaurant...wonderful service and the Pork tenderloin and Captain Cutlet was on point. Must visit and come back!

A highlanders lodge full of fantastic foods and treats, wooden chairs and tableaus of low landers from our perch! Do try!

We stumbled across this gem while in town. Both my husband and I ordered cabbage rolls with tomato sauce. He had dumplings. I had the potatoes. I had chicken noodle soup and he had Borscht. We also ordered perogies. The chicken noodle soup and cabbage rolls reminded me of my grandma. I could tell everything was made home made from scratch. It's been over 50 years, thought I would never be able food this good again. Thank you! Next time we are in the area, we will be back.

Because covid I want to eat outdoors but we have tried many times and many people smoking so we always have to leave. Plus they sit people on tables that are not cleaned, they just remove the stuff from previous guest and put the new stuff over, not even passing a cloth. We loved the food 2 years ago but we might not make it again.

Update. We have tried 2 more time eating in this restaurant patio and there is always people smoking while sitting on the dining outdoor area and servers/waiters have seen it and none has said anything to smoker to leave and smoke outside eating area.

Absolutely best food!!! Brought back fond memories of my Polish grandmother's cooking. Delicious!!!

Food was amazing. Restaurant has a very rustic cabin vibe with painted mountain murals on the walls. Ordered the Polish duck which was delicious with a crispy skin. Boyfriend ordered the chicken pinwheels that were very tender and flavorful. Will definitely visit again.
