Decent. Depends on what you like really. I don't think the food was bad. Everything was cooked well and made fine. Servers were polite. Restaurant was clean. Atmosphere was nice. And There were a lot of people enjoying their meals, so I'm convinced I'm just not a fan of that style. But I guess I can recommend it for someone who likes this kind of stuff.

This place has the best food. It's actually better than eating at home. Everything is always fresh and made to order. The service is pared right along with the food. Everyone is pleasant and polite .
Delicious food! Especially nice on a cold day. I appreciated that there was even a vegetarian item on the menu (a huge potato pancake with mushroom gravy), which was delicious. We also shared some sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese pierogies, which were also great. Also great was the mulled wine. They serve a lovely sourdough bread with an interesting spiced spread, but heads up to vegetarians -- the spread is bacon-based. But again, excellent bread. (As you can see, deliciousness was the theme.) The exterior of the restaurant is a little unassuming but the interior is like a cheerful cabin. Would definitely recommend.Vegetarian options: Babcia's pancake, which is a potato pancake with mushroom gravy, served with 3 types of cold salad. There are also meatless pierogies: sauerkraut & mushroom and potato & cheese (ask to be served without bacon garnish). There are also some salads on the menu which are vegetarian. I don't believe any of these dishes are vegan, though at least one of the salads could probably be made vegan if the cheese was left off.

The food was 5-star quality. Prepared from Best ingredients and served as a fine dining plate. The ambiance was extremely friendly, almost like I left Wood Dale and stepped into a Country setting. The dining area had plenty of light, with quiet environment so you can talk and enjoy your food. My wife and I were very impressed with this restaurant. We both would highly recommend to everyone for a nice place to have a very nice dining experience. The prices are very reasonable based on quantity and quality of the food choices.

Bert, Betty and their wonderful associates have always been warm and welcoming and treated us like family. U Gazdy is a gemstone within our community when it comes to authentic Polish food. I often come here with heavy thoughts weighing on my mind, but I never fail to leave feeling better than when i walked in. Through their comfort in food and beautiful atmosphere you’ll surely enjoy yourself as much as I have I hope.Thank you for being a cheaper alternative to therapy. Haha❤️
