Smashed some biscuits and gravy! Delicious!

A hidden and not talked about much, diner in Wood River. It's one of the better diners in the Riverbend area. It's a dive and that is part of its charm.
The food is simple, made fresh and is totally affordable. I ordered, Breakfast Special #6 and it was only $8. I enjoyed, two scrambled eggs, bacon, one biscuit and gravy and tater tots. They offer 3 choices of potatoes; Hashbrowns, American Fries and Tater Tots. I was going to order American, but the waitress said her favorite was the tots, so I took her advice. They were a nice change of pace.
I was surprised, about the seasoning. Most diners I have eaten at, are heavy on the salt, but not here. I actually had to add salt to my food and I am not a big salter.
6th Street is on my way to my part-time job and I am fairly certain, I'll be stopping for breakfast on the regular.

We sat there for 30 minutes before our order was taken, we had to get our own menus and silverware because our server forgot it.

Great diner for breakfast and/or lunch! Food is what you would expect from a small diner like this. Service is friendly, and the food comes out quickly. Cash only, but they do have an ATM on site.

This was my husband and I's first time going. Cash only but we had cash. I see a lot of reviews about having slow or rude service... our server was super nice! Food was okay, just a lot of things not to our personal taste. We were shocked at the prices in this day... we were happy about that but we went on a Saturday around 8:15ish and we both got waters, a breakfast special #3 (6.35ish) with no add ons or subs and then a breakfast special #7 with no add ons or subs which is like $14.00-$14.50... when we got our check, it listed both of our breakfast specials with the prices and at the very bottom in the tax portion it said $4.50............. since when is tax 31.9%? I am not sure if its like.. an assumed tip or what but we just paid and left. We also left a $3 cash tip on the table so in the end for $14 worth of food, 2 people for $22ish. I don't know, the tax thing just made me feel like we were being scammed somehow.

Very nice meal. Highly recommend!
Was not impressed. Took approximately 45 minutes for our breakfast. The bacon was really greasy, and the eggs were overcooked. Had to get their attention and ask for more coffee while we were waiting. I won't be going back.
