If I could give it 0 stars I would. I don’t ever plan on returning. First the service was horrible. The waitress didn’t really have a positive attitude or friendly demeanor. My food didn’t come out as I had expressed and I asked for clarification on the ordered meal, which was still inaccurate to what they were describing and what the meal actually was. After the waitress went back and forth with me I just asked to switch to something else and she stated I couldn’t do that. I had to wait 30 min for the manager to arrive and she asked why didn’t I just order something else. I explained that I tried but she didn’t allow me to do so. She then apologized for the misunderstanding and said they don’t offer coupons or discounts so she would have to take something off of our bill or next visit. As we proceed to pay, we notice a charge for admin fee. Find out that they place on the back bottom of the menu that there will be a charge if you pay with card. There are no signs posted nor do they even let you keep the menus long enough to notice it. Overall the whole vibe was just rude and disturbing. I won’t be returning. The food was dry and not tasty at all.

Patrons beware!! This restaurant is not honoring gift cards that were purchased at the restaurant. The whole corporate system is not capable of accepting gift cards. The company SHOULD HAVE A PLAN TO COMPENSATE PATRONS. Will never go back, after about 35 years of patronage.

Absolutely will be coming back here. My family and I drive over an hr to come here and it never fails to amaze us. To start the service is absolutely genuine and our server was outstanding very respectful very helpful. They start with fresh chips and salsa and when I say fresh I mean fresh ! Food came out cooked to perfection I got the carne asada and it was a perfect cooked steaked that melted in your mouth. All around love the environment love the food and definitely recommend coming here!! I’ll definitely be coming back!!

I am bummed. Something has happened to the ingredients I grew up with and look forward to from Pepe's. The beans, rice and chips all have an unusual and apparent orange color, not sure why but not at all like it used to be.

Their tostadas used to be on a tortilla that could hold up for days. These turned mushy as soon as we got them home & live 5 mins away.

Instead of the tasty white salty mexican crumble cheese on the beans, tacos and toatada, they used finely shreded white and orange cheese that turn into a melty blob and the lettuce & tomato so wet the tacos & tostadas were soggy & the lettuce wilted.

I had to deconstruct almost everything & crispen up the soggy tacos & tostada shells in the airfryer to salvage what I could.

When my carry out order was rung there was also a substantial service charge added. Wth?

I ate this food growing up on the south side of Chicago & weas so appy to have a Pepe's this close to me after moving to Woodridge 20 years ago.

Since covid the food has changed and the ingredients that made Pepe's unique gone. Sadly that's my last time to Woodridge. Going to go back to the Palos location to see if they are the same as they used to be or are serving orange, soggy & blobby ingredients too. Sad sad to say all this.

Came on in today and the service was good but that's it. The tacos were meh. Some meat on the asada was tough or hard. And I had alot more lettuce than meat. The horchata wasn't even good. It taste like oatmilk...rather than horchata. for 22$ this was absolutely not worth it.

On Sunday, July 20th we had a horrible experience at Pepe’s in Woodridge where we have eaten many times over the years. The waitress asked us where we wanted to sit. The restaurant only had 1 person in it on the side where we decided to sit. The waitress seemed to be angry that we choose to sit on that side of the restaurant. She walked away without saying anything about returning in a moment or nothing . About 3 minutes later she comes back with waters. I asked her if our seat choice was an issue. She said I USUALLY KEEP THIS SIDE OF THE RESTAURANT CLOSED. I said okay why didn’t you say that? You asked us where WE wanted to sit. I said I want no issues I just want to eat lunch. She said “me either” and I just thought why is she wanting to argue when we are just wanting to patronize the restaurant. I was furious with her attitude so I told my family let’s go. We have come to this location long before this server started. We will NEVER return. Poor service is not something that we will patronize! HOMERUN INN appreciated our lunch visit. Train your servers to be professional at all times! Personal problems aren’t a customers concern wheb they are patronizing.

It was my first time going. I went with my family. The food was absolutely amazing. I literally could not get enough of it. The plates are really big. The prices aren't bad either. I highly recommend the deep fried ice cream.

I would say this is the best Mexican restaurant in the surrounding area. Their al pastor is the best I've had and I always get it if the meal I'm ordering has it as a meat option.

The margarita drink had a lot of salt on and inside the rim which made the drink very salty. Food was good. Taco salad had big chunks of veggies on top of it. I prefer smaller pieces or shredded, but it was ok and fresh. The place is undergoing some construction with signs down right outside of the door
