Could really use more gluten-free friendly options. There’s no point changing the name and owners of the menu doesn’t ever evolve.

Although I had the nagging feeling I had eaten here before, it's got new management. It looks like a greasy spoon from the outside, but it's way too clean to be called that. Maybe it's a clean and shiny spoon. Busy breakfast-brunch diner place that has lots of regulars. Still, friendly and accommodating for visitors. Excellent coffee, quick competent service without pretension. Good spelling on the menu. Some of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Good lunch selection, but this is clearly a breakfast place and that's why I'm coming back. Down the block from the Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple (one of the rare Sri Lankan Buddhist temples in the Midwest) and across from the historic Woodstock Opera House (no opera, mostly musicals and some pop concerts) and well worth a drive a little out of your way. There's a whole day of interesting shopping around this restaurant.

Breakfast is quite good, but lunch is meh. Had a Reuben and house chips, but somehow both were dry and tough.

We had the Belgium Waffle and the breakfast burrito. Very good! I also had an egg on the side, scrambled soft, and it was perfect! Coffee was ok.

We where out for our 37 th anniversary and thought we would celibrate it at he opera house. The place we where going to go KING BBQ was closed so we asked where there was a place where we could get a GLUTEN FREE lunch to get something to eat. It was recommended that we go to Double yolk cafe. We walked over and noticed that they had GLUTEN FREE bread. So we felt at least they understood what GLUTN FREE was about. My wife ordered a Chicken sandwich without a bun, I got an omelet. As we ordered the item I told the waitress to make a note on the ticket that this is GLUTEN FREE as another protection of being Gluttonized. My wife chicken came, and it was still very pink inside, We told the waitress she apologized and had them make a new one. The second one came and it was so dry and over cooked that she tried to eat it but could not. So she did not want to ruin our date and kept quite about the chicken and just did not eat it, thought she would eat the fries that where all over the chicken. Well she had a few fries and noticed that there was a coating on there fries. I went up to the person at the register and asked if there fries where GLUYEN free she said she does not know and yes there is a coating on the fries. I told her we told the waitress that we needed Gluten free meal. She said after looking at my wife's plate and seeing she didn't eat almost non of it that she will take off the chicken off the bill. $14.34 for a chicken sandwich and fries ( that was outrages but we already sat down and said why not it must be good at that price ). Well if anyone knows what Gluten does to a person when they have not had it in years. Needless to say my wife got super sick and it ruined the show we went to. So $18.00 for 1 omelet 2 drinks and a sick wife. Then I went to pay and they charged me a fee for using a credit card. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE if your in the business of serving food and offer gluten free bread your staff should be trained on what is GLUTEN and what items that are offered that has GLUTEN.

We were stopping through on a trip and had early lunch. Husband had avocado toast with poached eggs and I had a patty melt. Food was excellent, served timely and reasonably priced. Server and owner were pleasant. The restaurant has a diner feel. Menu is expansive.

Nice place to have breakfast with the locals. The locals always know where to go. Staff was nice diner-type decor.

We were on our way to lake Geneva and found this place based on the ratings it received. We are glad we stopped. A cute cafe with great food. There are a few tables outside. Food was very good and prices were reasonable.

Local restaurant on the square in Woodstock. Wide selection of breakfast and lunch items. Prompt friendly service. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold. Lunch for 2 with 1 soft drink was about $20. Very clean. Case in point.... while we were there, the commercial rug cleaning service arrived and swapped out the entrance way floor mats with fresh clean mats. This costs money. Most restaurants like this do not use these types of services because they can't afford the fee - they just vacuum the mats periodically and that's it. In the restaurant business, it's all about the details. And the details were there.

Sunday morning favorite. Quality food and fast service. Full servings, you won't leave hungry. Nice location on the square.

We wanted to have lunch on the square while in Woodstock and chose this restaurant for lunch. We were not expecting anything specific and just to get a bite to eat. Where to begin. We were greeted immediately and a gentleman came to our table to see if we wanted something to eat. Then the lady waiting on us came by and was very pleasant and took our order. I asked about one item, and she said it was great. So we started off with the chicken noodle soup. It was great. My wife ordered Monte cristo with sweet potato fries and I ordered the Reuben with chips. Wow, both were great. We also found out the soup and my chips are made there. They were also wonderful. The lady waiting on us was attentive, filled our coffee on a timely basis, and was just very pleasant. Thank you for a great lunch. We live about 40 miles away, but will certainly be back.
