The gentlemen we spoke with was super kind and I believe he was the owner or chef, really nice guy. We ordered bacon egg and cheese croissants. The croissant was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and BEC ingredients had good flavor. The sandwich is large, but it is around $19. Still, the price would have been acceptable since this is a niche cafe, except the plate was drizzled with balsamic, so the underside of the BEC croissant was covered in balsamic. I don’t like balsamic, and it was not mentioned as an ingredient, or else I would have requested: No balsamic. I would recommend mentioning that in the future, so each guest is aware.. or maybe don’t add balsamic to the plate since the croissant should be crispy not damp from a dressing. It’s possible that the dressing from the salad that was served on the same plate dispersed under the croissant to cause some of the dampness to the bottom side of croissant. If that’s the case I would offer a different side - I would pay extra for hash browns, crispy potato’s or mixed fruit perhaps - or serve the salad on a separate plate so the dressing does not affect the sandwich.

We also ordered “croissant beignets” and they were not what I was expecting. I think of croissants as fluffy puff pastry, crispy exterior, soft flaky interior. What arrived was pretty much the opposite… lukewarm, doughy, idk what but not a croissant sorry to say. A name change here from “Croissant Beignets” to something else might help manage expectations. Worth mentioning if you serve beignets loaded with powdered sugar please include a pile of napkins instead of one per customer. I wanted to like this experience more. A few small changes and easily 4-5 stars. The croissant sandwich would have been really good except for the unexpected balsamic.

Went today to meet 3 girlfriends, hours on door were 11:00 open. Got there at 11:30 and they were closed.

I've never had anything that wasn't delicious here. Sandwiches are big enough to share and I had the best Italian dip I've ever eaten at this establishment!

A shining gem in the heart of Woodstock.

La vie en Rose offers a charming environment to enjoy unbeatable pastries, sandwiches, and soups. The team here treats their role in feeding the community as something to take pride in, and it shows in every step of the experience.

I cannot recomend this place enough. If you enjoy a traditional sweet and savory treat, they have the best Monte Cristo in town.

Delicious pastries that look like works of art. Brought my daughter there and she had a wonderful conversation with Molly, who made my daughter’s day and was kind. I also enjoyed talking to Bill who works there; he was interesting and friendly. A really nice atmosphere, very laid-back and beautiful.

I promised cookies and found La vie en Rose Patisserie and Cafe. Located on the Woodstock town square it is a great place to pick up sandwiches, cake slices, cupcakes, cannoli and more. The warmth and service that Paul provided made this my new happy place.

My husband and I were stopping in to get assorted pastries/desserts for a dinner party and decided to grab lunch. The French Onion Soup was AMAZING! I had the Chicken Salad Croissant, and it was probably the best and freshest chicken salad I’ve ever had! My husband got the Monte Cristo Croissant, and he said it was incredible. This place is absolutely beautiful on the inside. Paul is very kind and makes you feel beyond welcome! He also made us an assorted dessert platter on the fly and it looked DIVINE! We are adding this as a weekly lunch spot for sure! It’s my favorite place in Woodstock, so far. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

The service was so great! We tried many items from the menu including lobster roll and cupcakes. GIANT chunks of lobster in the sandwich. All the pastries are fantastic.

Extremely disappointed! They said they could make gender reveal cookies that were either a bottle, rattle, or onesie shaped. I wasn’t able to verify what the order looked like when I picked it up because it was for my own gender reveal party. Once we opened up the package for our party, we noticed the cookies were just circles with the word girl on them. He clearly said these designs were doable, then didn’t follow through. I tried contacting the store multiple times and they did not get back to me, went in person, and he basically laughed that the cookies weren’t what I asked for. Don’t waste your time or money here!
