Nolan's Restaurant at Illinois Beach Hotel

It's like being on vacation at an elegant beach get away. Beautiful beach view of Lake Michelle. Our Michigan White Fish was fantastic! Our server was great and friendly. We paid $45 per person, including taxes and tip.
We had a fantastic time and will be back again, hopefully soon!

My wife and I enjoyed a quiet weekday dinner at Nolan’s. The food was enjoyable and the service excellent. We ordered calamari, pork chops, burger and lava cake for dessert. Had a good view of the lake as well.

Very calm, and peaceful. I loved the atmosphere. Very quiet not too loud. Service was amazing. Me and my fiancé had Katheryn as our waitress she was great.

We had REZ on NY day for 12, they were short staffed. They were having a hard time getting food out. Venue was lovely, BUT it was a very cold day & they nonstop opened the doors to clear out the DJ & furniture from NYE. We froze! Two of our party went to sit in front of the fireplace, twice! About 50° in there, with a repeating chilly breeze, smh.

I don’t want to say too much as I want to keep this gem in my back pocket for a return visit. Restaurant closes @2 and reopens @4. I had to change my reservations to 1:30 due to my sailor graduation dismissal was later than expected. They were so nice and accommodating. The food was delicious!!! We got the crab cakes and calamari for appetizers, didn’t get a pic of the calamari as our sailor ate it too quickly. Hub had the Nolan sandwich, delicious-lil messy, I had the salmon shrimp salad-cooked perfectly and opted for Italian dressing. Gf got the steak and baked potato and my son received the chicken Alfredo-tasted both-gf said her steak was a lil overcooked, she opted for rare it was med rare to med and her potato was over salted but good. Think there was too much garlic butter on the steak but the steak itself was good. Chicken Alfredo was delicious. Lil man got a grilled cheese which was good too, not typical bland kid food. Got a cheesecake for dessert and it was nice and creamy. Kellie the manager came by and she was so sweet and inviting. I def want to come back and stay, so close the beach and the view was amazing!!

The food was so delicious!! Ordered the strip steak with green beans and baked potato. The steak was topped with some sort of butter sauce ... oh my gosh it was so good!! First time here in many years. What a great experience! Very pretty setting overlooking the lake. We will definitely be coming back.

Best wings I’ve had in a while, their buffalo has a hint of garlic and makes them so delicious. They are crispy and big. Their chips are also super good, they are crispy and freshly made. Love coming for the beach view and their staff is always nice. Love their flatbread too.

Nolan's, the on-site restaurant, is excellent. Service was on point and the food was cooked perfect. A smaller menu but that is fine. The restaurant should be crowded each night considering their quality and pricing. The building and hotel could use a little love to bring it up to date, but there is nothing wrong with the restaurant area. Give it a shot!

We enjoyed our evening at WE ENJOYED OUR SUNDAY EVENING DINNER. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS QUIET AND RELAXING. OUR FOOD WAS SERVED HOT AND EFFICIENTLY. AND THE LAKE VIEW IS ALWAYS WORTH COMING TO SEE AND ENJOY. n

The buffet was very limited, food quality was poor, we found hair in the warmers. Nolan’s manager assured us they had one of the best Sunday brunches, boy were they wrong! Won’t be back!

So here’s my honest review. Anything that’s “wrong” with this place is completely 1st world problems. We chose this place during our visit to see family because I wanted to wake up everyday and see Lake Michigan and enjoy the forest preserve. It delivers 100% 5 stars for that!!! ALL of the staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is old. I’m 56 and my dad was a bellhop here when he was a teenager. It’s old, but if you go in knowing that, it’s great. Our room was huge and directly faced the water. The shower was so nice and we had a jetted tub in our room. It’s clear they put lots of thought into the colors and textures throughout the hotel. The indoor aesthetic fit right into the outdoor colors. There was a wedding while we were there and we didn’t hear a peep! So nice and quiet. My only real trouble was the spiders. BUT, we were in their space! And when you see the nature preserve around the hotel, it’s understandable and I was grateful they weren’t doing any (or much) toxic insecticides that would harm the animals around the area. I will absolutely stay here again!!!! Absolutely recommend. ❤️

We liked it . The food was good. A bit pricy for 2 drinks and 2 entrees. Our service was good. We sat on the patio and looked out at Lake Michigan!

Fantastic location overlooking the lake. Food was excellent and service was very good, only one server both nights. More of a problem the first night when the restaurent was busier. Server handled it very well and was friendly and attentive. Some confusion over opening times depending on where you looked. Hotel listing had the wrong breakfast times, ending at 10am when actually 9am. Some websites only had restaurent open Wed to Sun 4-8pm. Actually open 7-9am, 11am-2pm and 4-8pm everyday!
