This place is like an upgraded taco bell, made from scratch. The tortillas shells and the salsa were good. The tacos we got were ok. We tried to order the asada tacos and they were out of steak, so I got the al pastor, and didn’t taste any pineapple. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were there, and would rather sit and talk with another customer instead of her do her job. We didn't get our water refilled, and we waited so long for our chips and salsa that we thought that we weren't getting chips. We then wait 15 minutes for the check while we watched her serve her friends not checking on us once in that 15 minutes. I was lured in by the positive reviews only to find the poor reviews more accurately reflect what you will expect from here. Very disappointing 40$ meal. Go somewhere else.

This place is a ripoff! Chicken sucks! Expensive, extra small sides!! Go to El Rey Del Pollo Asado instead! $50 for a chicken and half!!!

Delicious food and great experience at Pollo Bacano!
Stopped by Pollo Bacano in Zion and it did NOT disappoint. The food was incredible from start to finish. The empanadas were amazing—perfectly golden, crispy on the outside and packed with flavor inside. Easily some of the best I’ve had.
The tacos were also great, served fresh with well-seasoned meat, warm tortillas, and all the right toppings. The sides, including the rice and beans, were flavorful and made the plate feel complete.
The restaurant itself has a bright, welcoming atmosphere, with beautiful hanging flowers and décor that gives it a fun, vibrant feel. My daughter loved it and was happily eating her empanada the whole time.
Service was solid and friendly, and everything came out quickly.
Overall, a fantastic spot for a family meal or a casual bite. We’ll definitely be returning! Highly recommend Pollo Bacano if you’re in the Zion area.

Pollo Bacano is a Mexican Colombian restaurant in Zion. I had heard great things about their chicken. So we decided to try it. First of all the restaurant is a very nicely decorated. It is a very clean comfortable and inviting casual atmosphere. We were warmly greeted when we entered. I ordered the charbroiled chicken wings. They were very good not over seasoned. The wings came with french fries my friend ordered tacos that came with rice and beans. She said that they were very good and the rice and beans were also excellent. They also provide you with three different salsas on your table. I liked all the salsas they were all very good. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The price is comparable to other restaurants. There is a kids menu. Also has a outside patio dining area. And s drive thru. I plan on returning to this restaurant in ordering other items out their menu tacos, empanadas , flautas but I'm especially interested in ordering at least a half/whole chicken. The charbroiled chicken is a great option to have. Stop in this wonderful restaurant and give it a try you won't regret it.
Fantastic food! The asada tacos were our favorite out of what we got, but that Arepa Bacano, wow! The tangy red cabbage balances the crispy pork belly, and adding the salsa verde that comes with it- *chef’s kiss*! Wash that down with the Colombian beer, and that’s a bit of heaven right there. On top of that, the place was spotless.

I saw this place open, I just never had time to stop. I remember when it was the old burger place.
The old place had terrible ambiance, but this new place, is an enjoyable breath of fresh air. They bring some of the south of the border flavor and atmosphere to Illinois.
I had the Blanco bowl, basically a burrito without the tortilla. In a bowl! And it was wonderful. Just a couple of pepsis for myself, and two cheese quesadillas to bring home to my wife and son.
The new ownership of this location, put a lot of work into it. And I'll tell you, you would never think it looked like it did before these folks acquired it. It's amazing. The food is delicious, and the owners are very charming. And one thing I would like to say, when you're trying to make a phone order, you never know what's happening in the restaurant at that time. It could have been getting a delivery from a distributor. That is always priority. The amount you pay for your meals counts on it. If you want fast, try McDonald's! If you want good, this is the place you need to be.

First time, won't be the last! Great food and great prices during Happy Hour! I had to update my review. Updated 9/18:
I'm sorry to say with only one other couple eating we have been waiting forever! Further update, happy hour, one waitress to handle, drive-thru, front of house and patio! Then to wait 20 minutes to put our order in then 5 minutes pass that they have no way to serve margaritas! During Happy Hour!! Not her fault, the business is failing the wait staff! Sorry...

I wish I took a picture of our food, it was fantastic. I got the Al pastor bacano bowl with guac added, and my boyfriend got the Al pastor burrito. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend either of them. Salsa was really good too, chips were fresh. I didn’t get the servers name, but he was great, let us bring our dog on the patio and brought him water. Also got the margarita with tajin rim. Loved it. Next time we’re in the area, we’re definitely coming here again.

Great food, but don’t bother ordering ahead. The last two times I placed a call ahead order I arrived at the restaurant for my order to have not even been put into the system and received by the kitchen staff.

Order from Ubereats for the first time, everything arrived packaged perfectly and sauces were abundant, including utensils. The food was delicious I cannot complain about that but they made a small mistake on my order. I ordered chicken empanadas and received beef ones. They were tasty but it was not what I ordered. Overall the food was pretty delicious, hopefully i can go in person one day.

I ordered here via uber eats. Ordered one taco dinner and one steak burrito. Everything was to standard. Rice was perfectly cooked, I really enjoyed the tacos and the tortilla especially. The burrito was great too. Hopefully I can go in one day and experience the service and atmosphere.

I am still in this beautiful restaurant while I give a review. Waitress was kind. The food….amazing. The flavor and taste on point. Thank you. Definitely coming back.
Revision a year later:
The place is still fantastic. Love the exterior frescas and the interior greenery, also the patio is lively just as we remember it.
We tried different dishes and they were all fantastic! Chicken wings are awesome, they are marinated and the flavors come through.
The chimichurri for the kebabs is amazing, not overpowering. Pork belly appetizer was great, loved guacamole with chicharrones, not chips as we can’t eat grains. The aquas frescas still great. We tried 2 desserts - yummmmmyyy!
Will be back again. Pleasant service.
A new gem! While the interior is new and beautiful, their nice patio is an envy for many! Food is top quality. We had burrito and taco dinners, they prepare meals to order with quality ingredients. Must try the aqua frescas! Reasonable pricing and pleasant service! Great food!

Best carne asada tacos in the area that I've tried! Very flavorful!
Also dined in and had the flauta dinner with chips and salsa, and guacamole!
Price was good, everythong tasted amazing, my only suggestion would be bigger portion on the beans and rice because tgey gave me very little cups of it.
The COLUMBIAN SALSA WAS DELICIOUS!!!
