Thought I'd try this place, we had a craving for some donuts. Got half a dozen, variety of flavor...so I thought. I asked for an apple fritter and got a cinnamon bun. Everything tasted the same, just sugary and doughy. No real difference in taste. Very disappointing.

I'm originally from Michigan, but I moved to Tennessee for college back in the mid-90s.
We have a long-standing tradition that whenever anyone in the family travels to Michigan for a visit, they have to bring back a dozen or so nutty donuts to Tennessee.
We almost always stop somewhere along the Michigan-Indiana border to pick up donuts. I've never been to Tom's before, so I thought we'd give this place a try.
We arrived around 9 am, and I didn't see any of the nutty donuts we usually get in the display case. However, when I asked if they sold nutty donuts, the young woman said they sold out of the ones they made that morning. Despite that, she said she would make some up for us. Around the same time, a coworker heard we were from out of town and said that she had a few more left in the back.
Now, when I saw their brand of nutty donuts, I was a little worried because they aren't exactly the same as what we usually get. All worries were vanquished when I tried one on the drive home. They are just as good, if not better, than what we typically get.
I got a lemon-filled donut, too, and it was fantastic.
Since we were traveling, we inquired about using their restroom but they didn't have a public bathroom but the young lady behind the counter directed us to a few places nearby that had public restrooms.
I was impressed.
Tom's has incredible customer service and great-tasting donuts.
On our next trip north, we'll definitely stop by Tom's on the way back home for some donuts. I'm just upset that we didn't buy more than we did. If I would have known they were this good, I would have picked up another dozen.

I love donuts and I’m always looking for great donut shops. We saw the billboard for this place on the highway and excitedly detoured. The donuts looked amazing! We ordered a dozen. Tasted 1 glazed donut and threw everything away. We were so disappointed. The flavor was off, they tasted old, and a little “gritty”. (Not sure if that’s the right word). Maybe it was an off day??

Something has changed at Tom’s Donuts with either their recipe, or the way they make them. Their apple fritter is the most popular. This visit, just before Christmas, my donut had the texture and taste of a day old. It was hard and dry. Additionally, there were only three small apple chunks in the dough. Very disappointed. May stay clear until, they correct this (if they ever do).

Small location. I have had donuts from here before and first stopped in to grab some for home. Very professional employees, small selection of donuts available, but with the amount of space wasn't expecting much for it. Very good layout when walking in, and was quick to be serviced. Was very impressed with the employees that were there.

Was great before the so called "title." Tastes like the recipes have gotten cheaper with more sugar. Definitely not the same. Shame.. and almost $30 for a dozen is wild.
I don't eat donuts often because there's very few I like. 20 years or more, a chain donut place discontinued the one I really loved and ever since I've been on the hunt for the same donut. I've never been able to find it. Last week that same chain had a promotion saying they were bringing it back for a limited time, well....it was a scam. I went to two of them and neither had it. My heart was broken, but my craving for it was back with a vengeance. I reached out to Tom's and they made my dream come true. I was expecting mediocre, and not because of them more because that's just how my life tends to hand things to me. Tom's hit it out of the park and I am so pleased that now I know I can send a message to them knowing I'll get exactly what I need and want. Tom's made my day, week, and month. Thank you again for going out of your way to do that.
