My wife and i travel a lot. It is rare for us to find a restaurant where each course outshone the previous one while the charming owners made us feel like family. That was pur experience this evening at Sandra D's. My wife is vegetarian and i ove meat and fish. We started by splitting the house salad, which was a great starter. I had the regular lasagna, and my wife had the sinach and mushroom lasagna. Both exceeded our expectations. So many wonderful flavors in each. No ingredient overpowered any other - they all worked together and created two wonderful dishes that were truly amazing. And then came the bread udding. Oh my goodness! I am not sure how to describe it. Delicious seems so inadequate. Bursting with favor is closer. Bentley the chef is so gifted. He greeted us and set ourctable since his wife Sandra was busy with other guests. Sandra was wonderful, and her recommendations were perfect. They were both so kind and amiable. If you want geeat home cooked food at a great price please enjoy this wonderful gem!

I travel down to Auburn once a year with my good friend who just turned 91, who loves cars. We went to the big car auction event and then randomly chose Sandra D’s for dinner, before heading back to Michigan. We had the best meals and a great time conversing with the locals there. Sure, the dinners took a little longer to arrive than we’re used to, but it was absolutely worth it and we had good conversation to pass along the time. There was a local insurance company owner, now retired, who was sitting by us. He mentioned that he had never had a bad meal there, and I believe him! I had a Mediterranean salad with salmon and a homemade lemon Dijon …something dressing. The fish tasted amazing along with the lettuce, fresh vegetable’s and the recommended dressing. The last time that I’ve tasted salmon that fresh, and flavorful, I was on an evening dinner cruise on Lake Tahoe, 20 years ago! My friend, Mel, also loved the restaurant and had the best time. He had a delicious pasta seafood dish that was a special of the day. He ate every last bite of his food, and brought up how much he enjoyed the place, several times on the drive home. A big thanks out to Sandra’s. We’ll be back much sooner than next year!

We spent our morning checking out the museums and worked up an appetite. We saw that this place was just around the corner in a residential area. We parked in the back like the sign said, and we were pleasantly surprised to be served by the owners. Sandra treated us like family, and her husband cooked our lunch and even came out to check on us to see if we loved our food. They have bottled drinks (glass bottle coke products, gold peak teas, and water). We had some of their fresh baked breadsticks with homemade alfredo dipping sauce. This is the moment we decided we made the right choice for lunch. The breadsticks are like a super buttery, rich crescent roll like bread. We tried the lunch special chicken alfredo lazagna. It had fresh roasted spinach, and it was so flavorful. We also ordered the spicy shrimp gamberretti. It was just spicy enough that it made my lips feel puffy, but my hubby said I'm a sissy and it was the perfect amount of spice. It was super delicious and we ate every bite. I took zucchini cake and a peanut butter graham pecan chocolate covered thingy home for dessert. I'm sure they will be great too. The inside of the restaurant makes you feel like you are home. When you visit, you'll know exactly what I mean.
