Up Cellar is one of the standout additions to the upgraded downtown Bargersville scene—a true speakeasy-style gem. The atmosphere is moody and intimate while still feeling warm and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier.

The cocktails are outstanding. The Up Cellar Old Fashion is the must-try signature, crafted with Taxman-distilled whiskey for a uniquely Bargersville touch. It’s smoky, slightly sweet, and absolutely fantastic. If you’re looking for something cozy and indulgent, the Dark & Smoky is a winner—an elevated espresso martini that drinks like dessert in a glass.

We had a great time here and will definitely be back!

34th anniversary date was perfect! This was our first time. It came highly recommended. Everything and everyone was perfect. My compliments to the chef. The strawberry butter was out of this world. Well worth the money.

The wine dinner we attended was amazing! The food was spectacular! And the service was great as well! Up Cellar is one of our favorite restaurants for sure!

My mom had made a reservation here as a celebratory dinner since I finished my chemo treatment and was told I am in remission. We love trying new places and we were very excited to try Up Cellar. We had a reservation at 6:45 on a Friday night, so definitely during peak hours, and upon arriving we were told it would be a couple minutes to ready our table - super normal stuff. About 20 minutes go by and, who my party assumed was a manager, came down and told us the party at our table had paid and they were just waiting for them to leave. Sure, happens all the time. We were not seated until 7:20. After being seated we did not meet our waitress until maybe another good 5-10 minutes. Again, I always give staff the benefit of the doubt since during peak hours but no greeting or water or anything. Eventually our waitress greets us and asks if we wanted any drinks, we order beverages and food both at this point since we fear it’ll be another stretch of time before we are visited. (For note, my 16 month old son was with us and we were never asked if we needed a high chair or a children’s menu until we asked if either were available - no big deal, the world doesn’t have to cater to our children but wouldn’t you think to maybe ask?) My mom and I order alcohol which comes out almost right away and my sister had ordered a Sierra Mist, which doesn’t come until after our food is set at our table and we are asked if we need anything else. My wife ordered the steak sliders specifically without the blue cheese crumbles it comes with, came with blue cheese crumbles. I ordered the Brazilian board which is a steak that comes with glazed carrots, potatoes, and a chimichri. The chimichri was absent but the food was unfortunately really stinking good. I say unfortunately because it’s going to be hard to find a reason to return just for the food. When you charge the prices you do I feel like many people expect a certain level of service and that service was nonexistent. Go here if you have absolutely no where to be afterwards and if you don’t mind paying $50 a head to consistently ask for things you ordered 20 mins ago. Leaving this review in hopes that improvements to service are made.

Visited Up Cellar to celebrate my wife's Birthday and it was difficult to find the entrance. Entered the "Lobby" of P&L and Up Cellar and was asked if we had a reservation, which we did. Young female receptionist looked and said that we did not....I told her I had a confirmed reservation @ 4pm for Up Cellar and where the receptionist went wrong is she "PreSold" my family in that we didn't look like we belonged in Up Cellar. She looked in the other computer and found our reservation. Her behavior and professionalism drastically needs to be improved as she yanked open the door to let us upstairs. We walked up listening to the sweet sounds of Frank Sinatra and we were seated at the larger table near the window. Once seated we had to wait quite along time before a server, Lexy, came to the table. Lexy was very friendly thru out our dining experience. I ordered the Brazilian Board and later was told there was no Picanha for my entree so I ordered the 16oz Ribeye and asked since I was not able to get what I initially ordered could I get a complimentary order of fries.....and Lexy agreed later to find out I was charged for that order of fries. Our order arrived and for the most part the food was cooked properly, yet my steak was extremely salty and 3/4 of my ribeye was practically rare. I normally would have sent it back and it was my Wife's Birthday after all so I did not. Hindsight being 20/20 I probably should have. Lastly, I have worked for this company as a line cook at Taxman Brewing, and I was let down from this dining experience. The ambiance is great, the decorations are fantastic and the mood was very speakeasy"ish" but the speed of service, the unprofessionalism of the hostess and the overall quality of the food really was a huge disappointment and set the tone of the meal. I have high expectations when I dine out and thought that this restaurant would be top shelf....some aspects were and the important ones "ie" service" & food quality need vast improvement.

It was one of the best experiences of the year I took my wife for our 26th anniversary of the day. We met very special occasion and the ambience is so nice. The music is not too loud and you can hear yourself think which is a wonderful thing.

Before writing this review I tried speaking to the .manager in person the day after dining. I left a number and a message and have not received a call. I went to Up Cellar with great expectations and it fell short. I just wanted a couple of questions clarified by management. What type of dining category is this restaurant considered? Also, is it normal to wait ten minutes to be greeted once seated? After I flagged someone down, I assume there was a mixup on who was the appointed server. Normally, at a nicer restaurant eye contact is not such a hard thing to obtain. This was not the case at your establishment. I've never seen a staff better adjusted at ignoring diners. I'm also curious if not clearing dishes between courses in a timely manner is normal as well? We had to push then to the edge of our table and ask for then to be removed. It just was not a desirable experience. I had such high hopes as I have enjoyed experiences at other restaurants operated by this restaurant group. The atmosphere and overall decor was great. The service was lacking and the food was a solid good. My last question is, would it be worth my while to try again? Or is this normal and acceptable for your restaurant? It left me feeling like this was a low-end up scale restaurant. I hope it was a one off.

We had a fantastic meal at the up cellar we were celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter Ian made some fabulous choices and we were 100% pleased and would definitely recommend.

I cannot believe this place has ever received anything less than 5 star reviews. I’ve been to all the fancy steakhouses in Indiana and this is by far the best. The atmosphere is so relaxing. Quiet, dim lighting, and such a cozy feeling. The food is ridiculously good. Steak is phenomenal. Yes it’s not as cheap as your local chilis but there’s a very obvious reason for that. Up Cellar is phenomenal and I’m so happy I don’t have to drive 40 minutes to Indianapolis for a steakhouse that isn’t even as good. I recommend it to anyone. Get the filet!! Only tip I have to the owner/management: please bring back the fruit butter! Peach was incredible. I think the customers would love an option between fruit, herb, or classic butter. I could probably spoon eat the peach butter if it was socially acceptable. I look forward to my next visit!

Celebrated our anniversary here and — WOW! Experience and service were fantastic and the food was 5 stars! Crab cakes, filet sliders, ribeye & Mac n’ cheese were perfect. And do yourself a favor and order the Match Maker made with vodka, matcha, lemonade and vanill. The BEST cocktail I’ve ever ordered. Thanks for a great experience 👌we will be back🤩
