This is a unique place to stay. Updated, very clean, and quiet. It is located in downtown (which is very German looking) rather than near the highway, but well worth the extra drive. We will remember this place to stay at it again.

Batesville is a nice little (German?) town right off of I74. The Sherman Inn was clean and comfortable, owned by a sweet German man. He appreciated that we called directly instead of using Expedia and granted us the same rate. Water pressure was good (wait for the hot) and my husband liked the tall bathroom sink. Would definitely return!

Quirky, 173 year old Inn. No elevators, no morning breakfast, no stainless steel, no modern wallpaper. We loved our room with the 16' ceilings. Obviously there was a massive renovation to make the rooms this good. Park on the street, it's quiet. We stayed 8 days, loved it. Will do it again.

Clean, quaint rooms. Friendly staff. The Inn was built in the 1800s, which means a ton of charm, but no elevator (just an fyi-not an issue for me, but could be for some.) Would stay here again.

Reminded me of the hotels in Bavaria, Germany. It has a very old, hand-built feel to it, with big wooden beams joined with wooden pegs and wood plates. Nice big windows in the rooms that actually open all the way and since it was cool out did t need any AC. Really nice and comfortable bathroom and bed.
The Sherman Inn is spotless and a very well maintained hotel. This is our second stay and we were not disappointed. Pricing is good, the beds are comforfable, and the staff is very accommodating. Our room was quiet and extremely comfortable. We'll be back!

We stayed here for a family wedding and the rooms are very cute. Beds are comfortable and the history of the hotel is so interesting and the owners have done a fantastic job updating all amenities while being attentive to the history of the building. It is close to everything in town and there's a coffee shop just over the road and restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others!

My husband and I made an impromptu trip to Batesville only because of finding the Sherman Inn online. What a wonderful surprise! The hotel is quiet and so cute. The newly redone rooms are very comfortable. The town of Batesville was an amazing surprise. It's very walkable from the Sherman. We will definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We stopped last minute on our way to Michigan. It was little out of our way but well worth the detour. We were greeted by Ms. Karen, she made check in so easy after a long travel day. She gave great recommendations for dinner. Lil Charlie’s on E Pearl St is within walking distance and it’s fantastic. The room the very clean, quiet and updated. We will absolutely stay here again.
