El Salto Mexican Restaurant

Twice now I got the ground beef enchiladas and both times I was severely sick after. Idk if they're not fully cooking the meat or what but definitely stick to all the other meats. My husband had chicken and steak and he's been fine.

This restaurant doesn't bother to shut off deliver app service when they decide to close early for no reason. Placed an order at 5:25pm. Got a call at 6:15pm when the delivery driver arrived stating that they closed at 5:30pm. Their website says they are open until 9pm. Absolutely ridiculous and will not be eating here again.

We have been here many times with no issue but during our last visit the manager or owner felt the need to visit our table and try and shove his political views down our throats. Even after we made it clear we didn’t agree with him and had no interest in a political debate he kept going on and on about who we should vote for. We will not be back.

To start, I called and asked to speak with the owner and was never called back. I talked to the manager there and he said he would send my voicemail to the owner. However, they could have avoided this review by simply answering some simple questions I had as a customer and a previous individual in the food industry for over 10 years. Not only have I worked in many areas, but I know just about everything they would need to know to basically screw everyone over on prices. Here we go.
Their Burrito California on one picture of it let’s me load it, is the worst “big” burrito they have with everything?? I highly doubt it. I can stuff and roll a better burrito and I only have full use of one arm!!! Not only that, no beans. Weak, non toasted tortilla. Save your money people. You can get a HUGE burrito in Demotte for $10. I paid $14 for this burrito. Honestly. This burrito you can get in Chicago for cheaper and bigger and on door dash.
Their cheesecake burrito is in fact, not a burrito. It’s 2 cheesecake appetizers you can get from any food company, cheap or expensive. Hell. You can buy the same thing at GFS and sprinkle some cinnamon on it and call it a day. The sauces came out of a bottle and were bland. Even the chocolate.
I can go on all day about how they’re overcharging for food because of their location. Not only that. Why are the customers covering the cost for all your tvs, music, paintings and your digital ordering machine where you demand no less than a 20% tip? Mind you, I left the 20% on a to go order and I didn’t have to.
Also, your to go boxes are too expensive. Go greener or not at all at this point.
Wake up people!!! They just think we’re stupid Americans that will pay for some authenticity. Some orage paint and some cool paintings with loud music will not make me come back. So. I hope you guys see this because it could’ve been avoided. So the $26.99 that I paid for this garbage food should probably come back my way.

First time we were done wrong was when they heard us talking about the half off $20 night agreed with everything we were saying about the deal then said half off ended the week b4 when we got the check went back bc of half off margs and usually at any other place I have two and I am buzzed . . Had 6 saying I was going to chug them drank them all within a minute and feel nothing place is the absolute worst..

My margarita was barely drinkable, it just did not taste good. My husband dinner was extremely greasy. And mine was fairly tasteless. The portions were small. Our waitresses awesome.

Had a giant Margarita to share. Very strong. Had chips guacamole and salsa very good. A little pricey for what we got also had three different tacos to try.

Great lunch and dinner spot with excellent service and cute decor. The bar menu is fantastic (Modelo on draft!) and tasty chips and salsa. I loved the crispy cheese in the queso fundido from the smoking hot platter. I definitely recommend sharing with three or four. Posole was good, but made better with the habanero salsa served with the steak tacos. I've had better steak tacos, but they were still good.According to the signs, Thursday is BOGO half off entrees. We'll definitely come back to try a mixed drink and different meal.

I ordered myself 2 beef tacos and a cheese quesadilla meal. My cheese quesadilla was great but imagine my surprise as a 7 month pregnant woman when I take my first bite of my taco and taste raw meat. I am beyond disgusted and upset and now have to worry that I’m going to get food poisoning, putting my unborn child at risk. I have a photo of my food for anyone who would like to see it. I have tried to add it to this post and can’t.

My server Nayeli was AMAZING. Great & quick service. She’s super sweet and made my night out enjoyable. The food was fantastic they have some great cooks. Will be coming back very soon.
