What a sweet spot!
Came back a second time but closed for the season. (Sad face) Honestly, we would come in for ice cream even on Christmas lol. Hey! Suggestion serve Hot chocolate in the winter😋

Love the old-time parlor feel. Ice cream is delicious. There is a train that runs around the inside of the parlor and hangs from the ceiling. We have been there a couple of times, and the service has always been great.

Throwback to the 50’s! This shoppe has awesome fountains for décor and old bowling alley benches from way back! Also, where else can you find a moving model train moving around for you to watch while you eat! Owner is exceptionally outgoing and friendly. There are also dozens of flavors to choose from! If you have allergies, they even have a list of ingredients.

We are eating and lias Bella restaurant and they recommend the ice cream place right here and we come in with interest to see what it is but what my surprise it is they have a train inside of the place a train toy that I love trains and it was amazing for me. You don’t need my ice cream watch the train pass by and the top of the walls, I eat banana split with butter pecan later. I’m finished with my banana split and I order two scoops the black cherry who was delicious and my wife order. Brownie cascade and TJ it was delicious. Also she say and definitely. We recommended the place for a hot day like today.

If you are visiting Chesterton or the Sand Dunes this is a must stop! The electric watermelon ice cream was amazing! They had so many flavors to choose from, and everybody working was very friendly. Prices are super reasonable too.

We are on vacation at Indiana Dunes and stopped in at Dog Days today after lunch for a treat. Great place, and AMAZING staff! Our kids, ages 5 and 2, changed their minds on what they wanted a couple of times and the two young ladies working were so patient with us as they took our orders. Very clean and a great atmosphere - My kids loved watching the little train overhead. And of course, the ice cream was delicious! Also, they have a family restroom with a changing table, which may not be high on most people’s list but that can be so hard to find in these little specialty shops and as a family with two littles, having those facilities easily available is just a very nice bonus. Highly recommend :)
