Chips and queso , I'll pay you $10 if you guess correctly if it's vegan queso. Incredibly good. Dunkel weiss and Kölsch from Germany along with home brewed ales plus much more. A repeat for this New Buffalo local.

I pass this place all the time and today I had the time to stop in. Everyone is extremely friendly, I got introduced to the whole bar! This place is very welcoming and entertaining/enjoyable. I had two delicious beers with the offer to taste anything I wanted. I also had a delicious hummus plate. I won't hesitate to stop by next time I have a few minutes free. This establishment is very welcoming, friendly, kind and has great beer/ food. A+

Such a gem of a place. The vegetarian/vegan dishes were all delicious (get the queso, you won’t regret it) and the beer options were top notch. The owner made us feel at home and we absolutely can’t wait to stop by here again next time we come through Chesterton.

Update: 2 years later this location really has found a place on my heart. Could not be happier with what Bill has done here. Beer selection is phenomenal and life music regularly. I’m very happy here!

1st time here and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Scott Cvelbar as the live entertainment was a plus. The Bob's Special pizza was fantastic. Wished I ordered one to go. The drinks were on point. When the bartender/manager came out with some bongos, that was it. What a way to close it down. I'll be back.

Hunter's is a hidden gem of uniqueness. There is something about the ambiance that draws you in. Perhaps it is the delicious tasting brews or the best beef sandwich you will ever eat in your life. Pro tip: When you are ready to pay, ask for your "tab" to get a surprise.

It looks like Hunter's doesn't need another five-star review but here goes... I enjoyed my first visit there a few days ago. The rauchbier (smoked beer) was excellent and a rare find, and the red ale, kolsch and lager were good as well. There are many others I haven't tried yet. Bill knows his beer and he pays attention to his guests which is becoming less and less common in a world of corporate microbreweries where your server often doesn't even drink beer and doesn't know a thing about it. The flatbread pizza was just what I needed to go with my drink, and the live entertainment from Beth Niemann went well with both. And they played Cheers on the TV rather than the usual sports. I'd rather look at Shelly Long than at a bunch of guys running around in helmets. I'm glad I chose to stay in Chesterton and visit Hunter's for my beer, and I'll be back.
