Brought the family in for what we thought would be a fun meal after driving all day to the Dunes. Spoiler alert: we were wrong. On the positive note, the hotel next-door was great.
Started off Strong, Friendly and easily check in at the hotel — then went to the restaurant which was a major mistake. It took an impressive amount of time just to get a kids menu. Because, you know, kids love waiting. Then we saw milk on the restaurant menu. Classic, right? Asked for some and were casually told, “We don’t have milk.” Oh okay, cool cool… just figured we’d shoot our shot with an imaginary beverage listed right there in print.
Next, my fiancée asked for a Mountain Dew. Silly us! They serve Pepsi products, but somehow skipped over one of Pepsi’s top sellers. That’s like a movie theater running out of popcorn but still proudly serving soda.
Still trying to give the place a chance, we asked the server what specials they had. Her response was basically the human version of a shrug. No interest. No effort. Just vibes — bland, uninterested vibes.
To lighten the mood, I asked her what she recommended to do in the Indiana Dunes area. Her helpful travel tip? “Google it.” Ma’am… are you a server or just the human embodiment of a 404 error?
Since Uno’s allegedly known for their deep dish pizza, I figured I’d ask about it. You’d think I inquired about a tuna sandwich by her tone. No sparkle, no suggestion, no “this is what we’re known for!” — just a half-hearted “yeah it’s a deep dish.” Riveting.
We ordered anyway (because we were trapped at that point), and of course the food didn’t all come out together. My fiancée and her little one got theirs first — brought by another server who flat-out said, “I’m not sure where your server ran off to.” Amazing. At least she was nice and seemed slightly more alive than our original one.
Eventually, our server reappears like she’d just returned from a long hike and looks at me confused, like “You don’t have your pizza?” Nope! No pizza. No pan. No clue. Thanks for noticing though.
The restaurant was mostly empty — which makes perfect sense now. If you’re craving overpriced food served with a side of indifference and mystery service gaps, this is your spot.
Otherwise, take your appetite and sanity somewhere else. Preferably anywhere that serves milk and enthusiasm and is known for specials and pizza! Was very disappointed. I would not recommend this location. If I known all this I would have Avoided it altogether not sure how any hell it has a 4.6 star rating?
Server/bartender never even ackowledged us even though there were only 1 other table. We sat outside and waited and the other guy asked if server ever came. We said no. It started to rain so we went inside. She never spoke. Extremely rude. Even came to our table and put down a cheese container and said nothing. She was more concerned about her closing than her customers. The guy who waited on us was good but we won't be back. We did tell the manager. After reading lots of other reviews they all complained about rude service. I know they also own the hotel which was great but unless service improves I can't see it staying open long.
Got the 16" thin crust and cheese garlic bread. Both were tasty and the service was terrific.

Excellent speak-easy vibe. Great mixed drinks but they are more expensive than most places. However, they aren't watered down and you won't get a better mixed drink anywhere. Some people only come for drinks and piano player, so I don't mind paying more for drinks since I get to hear live music and I don't always order food. If you don't drink, try the ginger beer - best ginger beer I've ever had!
We went for the deep dish Pizzeria Uno rather than the wider aspects of the menu. Service was good - it was a Sunday evening and v quiet at this time of year. However the pizza was very average (at best). Our friends commented on the excessive sauce the last time they’d been there and the server said that was a common complaint. In that sense it was ok but the bread base was more like cardboard than pizza and the flavours of the filling were indistinct and forgettable. We’d go back there but not for the Unopizza..
Live entertainment was geared for people my age. Place was packed.
The Speakeasy is within walking distance to The Spring House Inn Hotel where we were staying. We walked over for drinks and appetizers on a Tuesday night. It was pretty busy (there aren’t a lot of restaurants around). We sat at the bar and had good service and our appetizers were tasty. The bartender was super busy. She was making drinks, waiting on bar customers as well as customers at the tables in the bar area. The kitchen was slow getting food out and many customers were upset, leaving before getting their food and giving the bartender a hard time because of the wait. She was doing as much as she could with no help. The place is really nice but management needs to get more help in the bar area.
Pizzeria Uno has fantastic deep dish pizza! ❤️🍕Service was great and the Pomegranate Margarita is fabulous! 💖 The SpeakEasy pub decor is so charming!
Great place away from everything - awesome cocktails and live music!
Waited 2 + hours for dinner. I ordered combo platter ribs and boneless wings. When food finally came out. Ribs were ice cold. I asked the manager if they can warm them up in the microwave for a few minutes. I was hungry and was ready to eat. Apparently the “chef” didn’t like this. Waited another 30 mins for some “fresh” ribs which wasn’t needed. The chef brought them out to me. Put them in front of me and asked me if they were hot enough. They were piping hot. I made a comment how cold the other ones were and she actually responded. Most people like room temperature ribs. But I guess some people like them HOT. Once she walked away me and my friend just started laughing. Who likes room temperate meat served to them? She needs an attitude adjustment and obviously doesn’t know how to run a kitchen. Wait staff and manager were super accommodating but the rude chef and the fact we were there for 2.5 hours just for food. Ruined it.

My mom and I just enjoyed the evening at Speakeasy at the Spa. Tonight the special was half priced bottles of wine and half price select appetizers. We weren’t aware of how large the appetizers were, we ordered 4 ??♀️. Everything was absolutely amazing and we can’t wait to go back!
Love this place! Great food, Great Drinks and very cozy. Great place to unwind.
Food was delicious and wait staff is awesome! Live music and great drinks too! Highly recommended!
Awesome place. We were in town for a wedding and they did not have the booze we like ( CC). One of the bartenders went and bought us the booze.
Nice little bar next to a hotel. We had a pretzel and mushrooms. They both were rather good. They had a dj there but it was a Thursday night so it was not very busy at all.
