A lifelong friend had turned 70.....she and her family were returning to Michigan City to have a family and friend beach week celebration in her honor. I ordered the cake for her celebration per request of her husband being they were traveling in from Missouri ...so I went online and found Jens Gourmet Cakes in Chesterton. I couldn't have been happier....the service was great ,Ron at the front counter was very polite, the cake was one of the most beautiful cakes I've ever seen.....floral design, color of the cake, it was perfect and my friend and her husband were thrilled. I met the owner Jen who was a very gracious, lovely young lady. It was my 1st experience with this wonderful small business in Chesterton. I will be a return customer. Thank you Jen's Gourmet Cake. PS....I also picked up several of her delicious gourmet cupcakes and they were absolutely yummy.

We ordered a Elmo cake for our babies 2 birthday and we couldn’t be more happy. The cake was excellent and our baby loved it. I will be coming back soon ❤️

This place is amazingly delicious and the owner is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Not too sweet and just the right amount of flavor. I bought a few different cupcakes to try and enjoyed them all. She definitely puts her heart in her baking. Next time I need a cake, I will be going back to Jen’s Cupcakes. Forget the corporate the grocery stores or online places. Shop local and you will experience the difference. By the way, I can’t recall what flavor the purple one was but it’s phenomenal!

Although Jen is a very friendly girl… She misled me on the cake I ordered for my son and daughter-in-law‘s baby shower… She told me the baby would be sitting in the beer mug With the beer pouring down on her… The baby was about 2 inches and sitting on top of a Beer can you barely saw her there. It was a baby shower! The cake had a great flavor but was very small… $300 was the price! Would never go back again very expensive and didn’t get what i wanted. if you are looking for a fancy beware… She’s probably good for cupcakes but She is very limited on her designs for the cake… I wish I would’ve known. we will not go back to her bakery, and just because she was not honest.

Jen is so sweet and nice. The place is super cute and the cake was delicious!! 10/10 recommend

We ordered our elopement cake from Jen’s and it exceeded our highest hopes and expectations!!!!! I sent a couple of inspiration photos for the design (we were wanting a minimalist naked cake with nature-inspired accents) and they were not only matched, but a unique design was created just for us that was even more beautiful than the inspiration and was everything we wanted and so much more!!!! It turned out absolutely STUNNING. It was the perfect cake I imagined for our elopement, and not only was it beautiful, but it was honestly the best tasting cake either one of us has ever had. The perfect level of sweetness without being overwhelming. We’re already planning to drive back and get the exact same one on our one year anniversary. First photo by @sparrowsongcollective

This is the cutest small business I've ever had the pleasure of walking into. The shop is absolutely adorable and everyone I had talked to was so sweet. Jen was able to help me last minute with a large order and it was DELICIOUS. Her cake looked and tasted amazing and the cupcakes are to die for! I'll be coming back every time I visit my sister!

Parking: The location is in a strip mall, so there are plenty of places to park.

I came here for cupcakes and to my surprised they had more. They had cookies, cheesecakes, whole cakes, cookies, cake pops, coffee, tea, and milk tea. Ube milk tea please everyone try it!!!!

Cute shop and great presentation but the cupcake definitely tastes like a very poplar box mix and the icing was really bland. For the price they should either be larger or have more impressive flavor. They should also be packaged in a paper rather than plastic bag to they don’t all tip over.

Great place very clean everything there tastes great. We ordered a SpongeBob cake for my daughter's birthday. we saw one on tiktok, she was able to duplicate the cake in every detail possible. 5 stars definitely! I also purchased a few cupcakes and was not disappointed. They were great we enjoyed eating them.

This place is absolutely adorable and the owner is so bubbly and sweet. Very kind. Offered samples. Would absolutely go there any time we need anything.Omg had to come back and rave about how good their cupcakes are trying. None of them were 9verly sweet. I never like baked goods bc they tates so sweet it makes you sick. These were incredibly moist and well balanced.
