2 1/2 hours after ordering food — still no food. Got up and left. Wait staff laughed at us as we left. Completely unprofessional.
Arrived at 7 PM on Friday night and we were told they would have a table ready for us pretty quick even though it was busy. We didn’t get seated until almost 9 PM. We had a party of 11 and we ordered our food. They came back and said they couldn’t handle our order so we could only order appetizers. So we all ordered appetizers and they came back a short time later and said they couldn’t Accommodate that either. Meanwhile, we are sitting close to the kitchen window and can see the chef eating. We were very disappointed, considering we had heard nothing but nice things about this place. I don’t think I will go back.
We arrived around 6pm and placed our order on the rooftop. It wasn’t busy at the time, but we watched multiple tables who arrived after us receive their food while we continued to wait. At 6:30, we were told our order was second in line and would be out shortly. By 6:47, after following up again, we were suddenly told there were now three orders ahead of us. With a time constraint, we asked to just pay for the one soft drink we’d received. At that point, they said our food was almost ready and offered to box it up. We finally left at 7:02pm with a bag of food that didn’t match the value of what we ordered. As a consolation, they offered an Italian ice—which neither of us could have due to dietary restrictions. All in all, this was an extremely disappointing experience with poor communication and customer service.
Absolutely LOVE the Dunes Pavilion. They have such a gorgeous venue plus their team is so nice and easy to work with. If you're looking for a venue to have an event at, I highly recommend them. Huge shoutout to Kayla!
Corporate event; absolutely FANTASTIC food and hospitality. Kim and Janelle, YOU ROCK. We'll be back soon.
I wanted to reach out to you before I posted a public review. What an absolute disappointment last night. My date and I were dressed up for date night. We decided that our first stop would be at the rooftop for a cocktail and appetizers. We had not been there since you originally opened two summers ago. In 2022 we had a very nice experience there so we wanted to visit you again. After paying $12 to park, we got up to the rooftop. We immediately realize that the menu had changed but decided to make the best of it. We ordered some overpriced nachos and when we asked if we could please each have a plate were informed that you don’t have plates. So as I sat in my beautiful dress and my boyfriend and his linen pants, we were given some paper baskets to eat over. Low class. Then there was the music situation. The music was cutting out every 10 seconds. Not only was that distracting, but the music that was playing was beyond inappropriate and was terrible expletive laced rap of some sort . We were informed by the bartender that somehow your Wi-Fi had been infiltrated and a patron must be controlling the music because, that is not even what was supposed to be playing. Bizarre. Then there is the situation of the drink prices. After being served the smallest $14 drink on earth, I can honestly say I will never be back. What an absolute disappointment. I think we were there for a total of 20 minutes. Our bill was $47, not to mention the additional $12 to park.ridiculous! We did not even stay for sunset. We left and went to Café Lucrezia and had a proper. Absolutely disgraceful.
I have read the other reviews and I can only guess that positive changes were made. Today was our first time visiting the Pavillion and right from the start staff was very friendly and helpful. We ate at the grill. The food was good, Could use some improvements and I wish fries were available. The hamburger was a bit over done, but tasted good. My daughters liked their pizza Again, the staff at the grill was very friendly. The live music is such a great touch and the Pavillion is very clean. I'm looking forward to coming back !
Food quality is poor at the rooftop along with a cheap feeling with paper plates and silverware. The food downstairs is better but still not great. Service is lacking. I think this has to do with only having summer staff. You will never be able to attract quality people if you are only open a few months. I also can’t find any info on hours or when they open. It’s Memorial Day week and still no updates on opening. If you run a seasonal summer business and don’t have or post an opening date by May 21- the loss of business you will suffer is your own fault.
Drinks are great but the food was bad. Bland burger not seasoned at all, BLT bread and bacon was burnt, and the chicken salad sandwich tasted like just mayo, chicken, and raisins. No seasoning. The chips n salsa tasted store bought and salsa was straight out of the refrigerator cold. They absolutely need to get a new kitchen manager that knows what they're doing or better cooks. Not even close to worth the $200 bill. Server was very nice tho as were the rest. Will not order food there again until they address all of that.
We were quite disappointed with the rooftop bar & restaurant upstairs. It makes me sad to say this, but we have yet to hear a good review from anyone we know. We still thought we’d give it a shot and low and behold the food was just not good. Drinks were nothing special. The guac was obviously a store bought/premade kind, definitely not fresh. NOTHING seemed fresh. Everything seemed like it was quick and out of a GFS package. The view was spectacular and the the actual building and restaurant was beautiful. Beautiful finishes! It’s a shame a beautiful restaurant like this has such awful food. Hopefully they can make some changes because this location and the view deserves something good!!!

Clean and roomy. Small menu.
The salmon salad at Park Pavilion was absolutely delightful! The fresh, flavorful salmon combined with a vibrant mix of crisp greens and tangy dressing created a perfect harmony of tastes. It was a refreshing and satisfying choice that I would highly recommend to anyone craving a delicious and healthy meal.
The event space on the second floor is beautiful in an industrial glam way! Large balconies overlook Lake Michigan & the Chicago skyline, in the distance! We enjoyed cocktails on the Rooftop in our own private section. Food was very good & tender! Very accommodating for our wedding reception, which made the day very unique & special!
Unexpectedly pretty good food and dine in experience. A plus is the view
Good service. Server recommended an appetizer we may have otherwise overlooked, it was quite good. Oddly the fire alarm was tripped just after our entre arrived. We were ordered to exit for 20 minutes or so. Turned out to be a false alarm by kitchen staff. Other diners actually commented on our meal as they peered thru the window. We then returned to our table to a tepid meal. At that point it was unpalatable but could be reheated as a leftover. It was a bit comedic but I certainly wouldn't return based upon this dining experience as there wasn't so much as an apology.
