Pavilion Indiana Dunes - Beach Café

2 1/2 hours after ordering food — still no food. Got up and left. Wait staff laughed at us as we left. Completely unprofessional.

Arrived at 7 PM on Friday night and we were told they would have a table ready for us pretty quick even though it was busy. We didn’t get seated until almost 9 PM. We had a party of 11 and we ordered our food. They came back and said they couldn’t handle our order so we could only order appetizers. So we all ordered appetizers and they came back a short time later and said they couldn’t Accommodate that either. Meanwhile, we are sitting close to the kitchen window and can see the chef eating. We were very disappointed, considering we had heard nothing but nice things about this place. I don’t think I will go back.

We arrived around 6pm and placed our order on the rooftop. It wasn’t busy at the time, but we watched multiple tables who arrived after us receive their food while we continued to wait. At 6:30, we were told our order was second in line and would be out shortly. By 6:47, after following up again, we were suddenly told there were now three orders ahead of us. With a time constraint, we asked to just pay for the one soft drink we’d received. At that point, they said our food was almost ready and offered to box it up. We finally left at 7:02pm with a bag of food that didn’t match the value of what we ordered. As a consolation, they offered an Italian ice—which neither of us could have due to dietary restrictions. All in all, this was an extremely disappointing experience with poor communication and customer service.

Absolutely LOVE the Dunes Pavilion. They have such a gorgeous venue plus their team is so nice and easy to work with. If you're looking for a venue to have an event at, I highly recommend them. Huge shoutout to Kayla!

So glad they finally fixed up this place. It used to be an eye sore on the prettiest peace of land in NWI. The roof top bar is great would definitely recommend going at sunset to see the view over the lake. My only complaint is the new bathrooms are a dump. Saw some guy slumped over the toilet after an od. I always carry narcan with me after having a close friend od. but i didn’t use it because he gave me a dirty look earlier in the day. may have just been an accident but oh well he’s brain dead now. Besides the bathroom the new pavilion makes me proud to be a member of the region. Can’t wait to visit many more times over the summer.

The Pavilion is located within Indiana State Park. The location is right on the beach. There is sitting outside with gorgeous views of the water. You do need to pay $12 to get into the park. The food was ok, but I thought it was overpriced and quality was average. Unfortunately, when we went there was only one person running the show because the rest of the staff called off. She was able to manage it by herself. The Pavilion is located by a couple of trails as well, if you would like to explore.

We couldn't have dreamed of a better place to host our wedding reception! Quick shout out to Ginelle for working with us to make our day unique and special. Although we had an overcast/rainy day, we ended up having the entire beach and building to ourselves! The clouds lightened up just in time for the sunset, giving us and our guests the best possible sunset view. The historic red brick pavilion made for a beautiful venue that our guests loved. We had mixed feedback on food, so we highly recommend attending the food tasting so that you make the right decision for you and your guests. (At the end of the day wedding food wasn't our first priority). We highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a beach wedding in the Northwest Indiana!

I was highly disappointed with my recent experience at the pavilion. I came expecting a nice sit-down meal like I had last October, but instead, I was served fast food that wasn't great and had clearly been sitting under heat lamps for a long time. If this is what the pavilion has become, I’ll make sure to bring my own food next time.

Was here on Memorial Day. Hiked some trails with my son, then went up to the rooftop of pavilion for a bite to eat . Food was terrible . We each had tacos and could barely taste the meat from all the cream sauce on each of them . My tortilla shells were flour and came out a bit crunchy like they were either old and sat there or overcooked . Spent 60$ and was very unimpressed with our meals for the price that we paid . Needless to say we won’t be back , came to give it a try . Server was nice and that was the only thing good .

such a cool spot! we were able to watch the sunset over the lake from the outdoor patio. great service and super fun selection of cocktails that were delicious.
