Root & Bone - Chesterton

Unfortunately I can't remember any names of the staff... The host wasn't welcoming at all, the server was wonderful!!! I was really looking forward to dining, I took my daughter for her 12th birthday. Very disappointing! We ordered the deviled eggs, they were so small and tough. My family and I are still trying to figure out what species the egg came from. The girls ordered the ravioli, took one bite and pushed the plates forward. Completely flavorless!! Mom and I ordered the brisket meatloaf, it's just dry, over cooked, under seasoned brisket, shaped into a square. There's no binder, no veggies, nothing that makes it meatloaf, just sweet red sauce on top... When you stick your fork in, it just falls apart. They advertised broccoli with the meatloaf, however I received green beans in a sweet sauce with boxed mashed potatoes! Asked our sweet waitress about the green beans, found out they were cooked in bacon fat. Well I'll be damned, I don't eat pork(cries). 1/2 Fried chicken undercooked. Will never return..... Wish I could take my waitress with me to serve at a good restaurant though:(

Enjoyed root and bone for the first time on valentines day. Had their February special 3 for 35 which was an exceptional deal.
Started with a salad, wife had the soup. Nothing special but very good. Entrees were the apricot chicken and steak coulette, knocked it wildly out of the park. Desserts were smores mouse and banana brulee that were incredibly tasty.
All in all a great experience, should have been much busier than they were.

I highly recommend visiting. Their food is delicious and it is more than worth the price for a nice evening out. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly to order, the potatos were excellent and complimentary to the steak. The starter salad was good if unique and it had the best croutons I have ever had. We had the s'more mousse and it was amazing and delicious. Everything was made fresh. I cannot recommend going here more!

fantastic dinner ! chicken best I've had, the cocktails wow very tasty not some sugar water and booze. The best I've had, if you like a great drink and appetizer make this your stop.

Yes, I recommend. We were at Root & Bone a few weeks ago with a group of 10-12 for “Friends-Giving” and everything was great. I said to myself I need to come back here. Sadly, until this gathering, I had totally forgotten about this Chesterton restaurant, tucked back (and rather hidden) in the strip mall behind some fast food places east of 49. It us very convenient to the subdivision in which I live. At the gathering, I had a Turkey pot pie-which was a special. It looked like the usual basic pot pie when it arrived, but thankfully it was not a basic pot pie ….not bland…so very flavorful and with the right amount of spicy….so good! I said to myself Im coming back. Just this past week, we were busy, wanted carry out but not pizza and definitely not fast food. We ordered Root & Bond carry out: rack of spare ribs and corn bread. Order was plentiful, fall of the bone juicy ribs, the flavor was so good. Prior to our larger group gathering, I had not been to the Root Bone since it opened but I will definitely be back, soon. If you go definitely check out the ribs. They have 1/2 rack too. The only thing I did not like about Root-Bone for dine in, is that it is a bit bright in the dining room for evening dinner, so if you are there with the love of your life ❤️, or I guess a rendez-vous🤫, maybe if you ask nicely-and not bothersome to other patrons- they will dim the lights for you. LOL. Thank you!

I’ve been here a few times and it was always alright. Tonight I order the spicy chicken sandwich and it was completely undercooked. Lucky there is a Popeyes chicken next door for a redemption sandwich which was cooked perfectly and half the price.

Biscuits were fantastic. Grits were creamy. The duck special was perfection. Banana-bread creme brûlée was a nice southern twist on a standard dessert. Mason was an attentive & helpful server. Go now and get the biscuits!

Mason was a great server and very friendly. Food was delicious! Apple pie was one of the best I have had.

I've been to Root and Bone three times and really enjoyed it each time. However, last night I ordered the ribs and I was disappointed. It was my second time ordering ribs there but I don't think I would order them again. The sauce was delicious and the presentation was beautiful, but the ribs were a bit fatty. The first time I had them they were not fatty at all. The mac and cheese was out of this world.
