The Original George's Gyros Spot

I lived in Chesterton for five years and George's was a staple in our take-out nights. Even now after I've moved, I still make the drive to come back because nothing compares. Also their mozzarella sticks are like cheesy Heaven.

Food is good
Better then most places in this area.
Portion size could be bigger for the price.

Who would have thought I’d try the best Gyros in northern Indiana, of all the places! Seriously, the gyros are amazing. Had to order one to go, too. The portions are huge so I didn’t even have to get fries. The cartoons on the tables were a cherry on top, very creative of them :)

Ok so I just spent 28$ on gyro plate and order of poppers ,
I get home and my fries are all nasty bottom fries ,
Did not get any feta but of course I should have known for that much $ I don’t get any feta go figure .
Then I call and the dude says I’m just a cashier and can’t help me out .
I will never come to this place again oh i pay for a cup of cheese and it’s half full like wtf man , food cost enough as it is now I gotta open my food up before I leave , you’d think places would be taken pride in the food they are making.

Every once in a great while, it's nice to be able to go inside somewhere, sit, eat, and enjoy while hot and fresh. George's never disappoints. All of their options on menu are made so well. I had really high hopes for this place and love to support local. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Gyro wasn't good. Meat tasted like it had been sitting for a while and the pita was almost like trying to chew shoe leather. I ended up throwing over half of my gyro away. Only bright spot was the strawberry shake. I'd go back for the ice cream/shakes.
