Visited again this evening! The food was delicious and the service was excellent! I love the ambience of the small space but I’m looking forward to more deliciousness in the new space.

If you are on the fence about trying 1816 here’s your sign! We have tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to find something we don’t like! We have our favorites in the general tso’s chicken and the ramen but it’s all so unique and fun with a great atmosphere. Chef Scott and his staff go above and beyond in everything they do!!

The General Tso with pork belly is awesome! The bread pudding is a great finish.

Absolutely amazing food. Make sure that you haven’t eaten for the last few days, the portions are BIG. Try the green tomatoes…
It’s seems to be a good idea to reserve a table…

My wife and I ate lunch on a Saturday. The food tasted great and the service and restroom was very nice also. The only issues we had is the prices are too high - double burger w/ fries and cod with fries and water = $50. Also the indoor seating is too close for comfort.

10/10 The food was so good. The server was so sweet. We were in Louisville for bourbon and beyond and we ate here and stayed in Croydon and it was amazing.
We cannot stop talking about the fried broccoli, goat cheese thing

Ordered dessert to go, and when I got home they had given me their black, burnt peach cobbler that was basically mush inside - totally inedible. Just another restaurant ripping off customers!

We called ahead to ask for a Friday lunch reservation and were told that no lunch reservations were accepted but lunch ended at 2 pm. We arrived after driving 45 minutes at 140 and the server told us that the kitchen was closed. Another couple came right after us and was also turned away. If you close at 145 it should indicate that on the website rather than 2pm.

How about a nice country drive to a hidden treasure? A mere 35 or 45 minute drive from the ‘Ville and well worth the trip. The capacity isn’t huge, and so make reservations if you go on the weekend! Don’t miss one of the best Old Fashioned that I’ve ever had. The loaf had a southern flair with authentic greens and polenta as sides. My wife had the General Tso and it was also outstanding! You may want to leave room for dessert. The two of us shared a peach bread pudding, and it was awesome. The service was fantastic also. I can’t wait to tell the rest of the family.

One of the best meals we’ve had in a long time. The attention to detail in plating and creative flavors absolutely set 1816 apart. This is now one of our favorite dinner spots! Also, get the fried broccoli!!
